  • Publication number: 20250129294
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for forming soft asphalt compositions with improved properties that are derived from distillation of a crude oil (or mixture of crude oils) having an API gravity of 24° or less. In order to form a target asphalt composition from a feedstock having an API gravity of 24° or less, a distillation is performed where at least two fractions are generated that have a T10 distillation point of 430° C. or more. A first fraction can correspond to a distillate fraction having a T10 distillation 2021em165-usoint of 430° C. or more. A second fraction can correspond to a bottoms fraction. Disproportionate blending can then be used to combine a portion of the first fraction with a portion of the second fraction. By using disproportionate blending of a distillate fraction and a bottoms fraction, an asphalt product fraction can be formed that has both a flash point of 270° C. or more and a KV100 between roughly 700 cSt and 1200 cSt.

  • Publication number: 20220370181
Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems for controlling a bladder of a subject are disclosed. For example, an apparatus for controlling the bladder can comprise a garment or accessory configured to be worn at least partially around a lower truncal region of a subject and a compression device coupled to the garment or accessory. The compression device can be configured to pressurize an abdominal wall of the subject when the garment or accessory is worn by the subject. The compression device can comprise a device housing having a contact surface, a device base, and an actuator. The actuator can translate the device housing in relation to the device base in a medial or lateral direction relative to the subject such that the contact surface of the device housing applies compressive forces to the abdominal wall of the subject when translated.

  • Publication number: 20220243066
Abstract: Asphalt compositions are provided that include bio-oil. Some compositions allow for upgrading of deasphalter rock to asphalt with a performance grade suitable for use as paving asphalt by addition of bio-oil to the deasphalter rock. Other compositions allow for upgrading of paving grade asphalt to roofing asphalt by addition of bio-oil followed by oxidation. Methods of forming asphalt compositions including bio-oil are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200231816
Abstract: Phase stable compositions of styrenic block copolymers (SBC) and high asphaltene content asphalts and methods for their preparation are provided. In particular the styrenic block copolymer is a styrene-conjugated diene-styrene block copolymer such as styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and phase stability is achieved through addition of low levels of sulfur based crosslinkers. The compositions find use in, for example, the manufacture of roofing membranes.

  • Patent number: 5154024
Abstract: A method of installing a floor fixture includes the step of providing a support structure for stabilizing the floor fixture relative to a floor foundation at an installation location. The method proceeds by coupling the floor fixture to a drainpipe at the installation location before a concrete floor is poured, stabilizing the floor fixture with the support structure, and pouring a concrete floor on the floor foundation while the support structure stabilizes the floor fixture. An apparatus for stabilizing a floor fixture includes a plate for coupling the body of the floor fixture to a plurality of legs extending to the floor foundation. The plate has a central opening such that the plate can be placed over the body of the floor fixture to a horizontal position in which the body of the floor fixture extends through the central opening.
