  • Publication number: 20230190098
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a system for obtaining ophthalmic information includes an illumination device having an optical fiber; a hyperspectral illumination source; a controller; a modulation device; and an imaging device. The modulation device is configured to receive first source light generated from the hyperspectral illumination source. The first source light includes multiple wavelengths. The modulation device is also configured to modulate each of the wavelengths with a different frequency to generate second source light having multiple frequency modulated wavelengths, and transmit the second source light to an optical fiber, which emits the second source light to contact an eye tissue. The imaging device selects a first frequency associated with a first frequency modulated wavelength and captures light returning from the eye tissue as a result of the first frequency modulated wavelength contacting the eye tissue. • Patent number: 11673355
Abstract: A method of producing an optical article includes applying an imbibition composition having at least one dye onto at least a portion of at least one imbibable surface (45) of a substrate (20) to form a coated substrate (10). The method further includes irradiating at least a portion of the coated substrate with heat from a heat source (80) to form a heat gradient across the coated substrate (10) to diffuse the at least one dye into the imbibable surface to form an at least partially imbibed substrate having a dye concentration gradient corresponding to the heat gradient. The method further includes removing a residual component of the imbibition composition from the at least partially imbibed substrate. The dye concentration gradient forms a gradient pattern upon exposure to actinic radiation.

  • Publication number: 20230160690
Abstract: In certain embodiments, an ophthalmic system includes an anamorphic depth gauge (ADG) device and a computer. The ADG device measures the z-location in the interior of an eye and includes a detector array arranged at an oblique angle with respect to the z-axis. The array generates a detector signal in response to detecting a light beam, which has a z-focus in the interior of the eye. A set of line focus optical elements focuses the light beam to form a line focus on the detector array, and a set of nominal focus optical elements focuses the light beam to form a nominal focus on the detector array. The computer: generates an image using the detector signal; determines the position of the nominal focus on the line focus according to the image; and determines the z-location of the z-focus from the position of the nominal focus on the line focus.
