Publication number: 20240123343Abstract: Systems and methods are described for imparting dynamic, non-linear and realistic movement and look and feel to a player's/virtual character's first-person limbs and hand-held object model, and procedurally animating a first-person virtual camera such that it simulates the movement of a camera handheld by the player/virtual character. To impart chaotic or random motion to the first-person limbs and hand-held object model a first module defines and implements first and second two dimensional mass-spring-damper systems, each of which is linked to the player's/virtual vector's view vector. Procedural animation or rotational shake is implemented by a second module by applying a coherent noise function to each of the six axes of the first-person virtual camera.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Matthew John Stine, Cody Palmatier Pierson

Patent number: 11055257Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for automatically optimizing a reporting architecture of an application. In one implementation, a system for automatically optimizing a reporting architecture of an application may include a memory storing instructions and an automata processor configured to execute the instructions. The instructions may include identifying one or more state transition elements in the application; determining if two or more state transition elements have disjoint character sets; grouping two or more state transition elements having disjoint character sets into one or more groups; merging state transition elements included in the one or more groups; and outputting a merged report configured for disambiguation on a second processor.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2017Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: University of Virginia Patent FoundationInventors: John Pierson Wadden, Kevin Alan Angstadt

Patent number: 10646828Abstract: A method of filtering a fluid with components includes providing an alternating pressure. The alternating pressure yields an oscillating transmembrane pressure through volume and pressure variations within a filtration chamber while sealing the filtration chamber. A separation surface can be housed in the filtration chamber wherein an influent is introduced. Components can be concentrated on the separation surface, effectively removing some or all of them from the fluid. To flush the filtration chamber and separation surface, a backwash fluid and components can be introduced and removed from the filtration chamber. While both the components are being concentrated and backwashed, the system can maintain the oscillating transmembrane pressure and varying volume and pressure relative to the separation surface.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2015Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Georgia Tech Research CorporationInventors: John A. Pierson, Aklilu T. G Giorges
