  • Publication number: 20240146125
Abstract: An electric machine with a low profile retention assembly for retention of a stator core is disclosed. A first housing houses the stator core. The first housing has an axial end face with a circumferentially extending, shaped profile having recessed portions that project axially inward alternating with non-recessed portions. A portion of the stator core extends axially out from the recessed portions. A core retention spring is disposed circumferentially at the axial end face of the first housing. The core retention spring has direct contact with the portion of the stator core that extends axially out from the recessed portions of the first housing and the shaped profile of the housing. The core retention spring pushes against the portion of the stator core that extends that extends axially out from the first housing, imparting one or more of an axial load and radial load into the stator core.

  • Patent number: 11972308
Abstract: A parametric constant resolves to different values in different contexts, but a single value within a particular context. An anchor constant is a parametric constant that allows for a degree of parametricity for an API point. The context for the anchor constant is provided by a caller to the API point. The anchor constant resolves to an anchor value that records specialization decisions for the API point within the provided context. Specialization decisions may include type restrictions, memory layout, and/or memory size. The anchor value together with an unspecialized type of the API point result in a specialized type of the API point. A class object representing the specialized type is created. The class object may be accessible to the caller, but the full value of the anchor value is not accessible to the caller. The API point is executed based on the specialization decisions embodied in the anchor value.

  • Publication number: 20240132944
Abstract: Colorimetry is used to detect amplification reaction products. A sample is contacted with a reaction mix under conditions such that an amplification reaction occurs and produces an amplification reaction product if the sample contains a target nucleic acid template molecule. The reaction mix includes an enzyme for catalyzing the amplification reaction, and at least one halochromic agent. If the target nucleic acid template molecule is present, the amplification reaction changes the starting pH of the reaction mix to cause a detectable colorimetric change of the halochromic agent, thereby indicating the presence of the target nucleic acid. If the target nucleic acid template molecule is not present, the amplification reaction does not generate an adequate number of protons to sufficiently change the starting pH of the reaction mix to cause a detectable colorimetric change of the halochromic agent, thereby indicating that the amplification reaction product has not been produced.

  • Publication number: 20240132226
Abstract: A propulsion assembly includes a first torque source coupled with a first shaft and a second torque source coupled with a second shaft. A coupler selectively couples the first and second torque sources. When the first and second torque sources are coupled via the coupler, in response to a command to decouple the first torque source, an unloading operation is performed to decrease the torque output provided by the first torque source to a threshold, and when reached, the first shaft is decoupled from the coupler. When the first torque source is coupled with the coupler but the second torque source is not, in response to a command to couple the second torque source, a speed matching operation is performed to increase the speed of the second shaft to match a speed of the first shaft, and when the speeds are matched, the second shaft is coupled to the coupler.

  • Patent number: 11966798
Abstract: A type restriction contextually modifies an existing type descriptor. The type restriction is imposed on a data structure to restrict the values that are assumable by the data structure. The type restriction does not cancel or otherwise override the effect of the existing type descriptor on the data structure. Rather the type restriction may declare that a value of the data structure's type is forbidden for the data structure. Additionally or alternatively, the type restriction may declare that an element count allowable for a data structure's type is forbidden for the data structure. Type restriction allows optionality (where only a singleton value for a data structure is allowed), empty sets (where no value for a data structure is allowed), and multiplicity (where only a limited element count for a data structure) to be injected into a code set independent of data type. Type restriction allows certain optimizations to be performed.
