  • Patent number: 11807812
Abstract: The present technology describes various embodiments of methods and systems for improved coke quenching. More specifically, some embodiments are directed to methods and systems for improving the coke quenching process by partially cracking coke before it is quenched. In one embodiment, coke is partially cracked when placed in horizontal communication with one or more uneven surfaces. In another embodiment, a coke loaf is partially broken when dropped a vertical distance that is less than the height of the coke loaf. In another embodiment, a mass of coke is partially broken when first placed in vertical communication with one or more uneven surfaces and then placed in horizontal communication with the same or different one or more uneven surfaces. In some embodiments, the one or more uneven surfaces may be mounted to a coke oven, train car, hot car, quench car, or combined hot car/quench car.

Abstract: A multi-core optical fiber includes a plurality of optical waveguides that are at least partially fused to an adjacent optical waveguide. At least some of the optical waveguides are aligned to form a linear array having a major axis generally parallel to the linear array and a minor axis generally perpendicular to the major axis. A linear support structure is fused to the linear array of optical waveguides. A buffer engages and surrounds the outer perimeter defined by the optical waveguides and the linear support structure. • Patent number: 10548036
Abstract: A monitoring tool receiving a plurality of queries about the performance of a network, each query being a query about the performance of the network in a respective location. The tool groups queries that exhibit a predetermined spatial relationship with respect to one another. The locations of the queries in the group define a zone. If the number exceeds a threshold, then the zone warrants inspection and/or queries about network performance in the zone can be met with an indication that there appears to be a fault affecting the zone. Alternatively, the tool compares a plurality of stored areas, each area corresponding to a different time period and delimited by a boundary formed around the locations to which a plurality of network performance queries, in the respective time period, relate.

  • Publication number: 20200008456
Abstract: The present disclosure provides generally for snacks with sun defense nutriments that may allow participants to safely engage in sun activities and methods related to manufacturing sun defense nutriments. Sun defense nutriments may comprise sun defense attributes that may provide sun activity protection when the sun defense nutriment is ingested. Snacks with sun defense nutriments may be customized to provide effective protection measures for a particular sun activity. In some aspects, methods of manufacturing may allow for the generation of combinations of sun defense nutriments for production of snacks. In some implementations, the combinations may be generated based on one or more criterion related to sun defense attributes, sun activities, flavors, or nutriment types, as non-limiting examples.
