  • Publication number: 20030163967
Abstract: A jointing assembly for a panel screen or room divider system comprising a first frame member (10) with a longitudinally extending recess (16) having a narrow slot (17), wherein a tenon-piece (14) is received. The tenon-piece engages with a slot-like recess (19) formed in a second frame member (12). The screen or room-divider further comprises at least one panel member (40) having a flange on its edge, which is slidably engageable within a recess (24) of the second frame member (12). The screen or room-divider comprises at least two vertical frame members (10, 80) each provided with recesses formed therein and at least two linking members (87) with flanges shaped to fit within the recesses. The end surfaces of the linking members are inclined tending to produce a wedging action when positioned end to end.

  • Patent number: 5788250
Abstract: A tubular bushing (26) assembly made of plastic material and disposed in an opening (24) defined by a pair of spaced sheets in a seat back (14) of an automotive vehicle to adjustably support each of the posts (22) of a headrest (20). The bushing (26) comprises an outer sleeve (28) presenting ribs (32, 34) for engaging the edges of the opening (24) in each of the sheets of the bracket of the seat back frame (18) and an inner sleeve (30) for insertion within said outer sleeve (28) for slidably supporting the post (22) and having hoop rings (46, 48) for forcing the outer sleeve (28) radially outwardly to deform the ribs (32, 34) about and into gripping engagement with the edges of the openings (24).

  • Patent number: 5660120
Abstract: A modular furniture system for open-plan offices includes a cable tower unit, a plurality of panel screens which are attachable to and detachable from the cable tower unit and a workstation surface. Adjacent panel screens define a workstation area when they are attached to the cable tower unit into which the workstation surface is moveable. The workstation surface is free-standing from the cable tower unit and the panel screens. In a further embodiment, two cable tower units may be attached together through their respective rear faces to form a single cable tower unit having four workstation areas.

  • Patent number: 5255787
Abstract: A lead shot recovery device is disclosed for reclaiming lead shot from a slurry of material taken from lake bottoms. In one embodiment, the device includes a sluice box having an open bottom riffle bed through which can pass a net upward liquid flow. The cooperative action of the upflow and the riffles causes lead shot to fall through the riffle bed and into a collection pit from which the lead shot can be continuously removed. A method for recovering lead shot using the recovery device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5085363
Abstract: A method of repairing a section of a metallic cylindrical member, such as a turbine shaft, having surface defects and a keyway thereon, by machining the surface to a depth less than the depth of the keyway and inserting a half key in the keyway, and machining the combination to provide a continuous surface for welding. A weld material is then deposited over the continuous surface formed to a thickness which provides a diameter greater than the initial diameter of the shaft. The weld material is machined to give a member having the initial diameter and the key member is removed to provide a repaired member having a keyway therein.
