  • Patent number: 5588457
Abstract: A useful cane assembly for the handicapped for walking and maneuvering with ease, having the person's weight on the cane assembly being continuously supported. Cane 1, is supported by base 4, which is on wheels 5 and 6.

  • Patent number: 4518386
Abstract: A medical device employs a first elongated hollow cylinder having a first inner diameter, one end of the first cylinder being open, the other end of the first cylinder removably receiving a hypodermic needle and being otherwise sealed. The device also employs a second elongated hollow cylinder having a second and smaller inner diameter, the first and second cylinders being disposed end to end along a common axis, one end of the second cylinder being open and disposed adjacent the one end of the first cylinder, the other end of the second cylinder being adapted to be detachably engaged by a cylinder engaging member.

  • Patent number: 4484915
Abstract: A medical syringe adapted for one hand operation in both aspiration and injection modes, employs an elongated hollow cylinder having at one end a first external flange extending at right angles to the axis of the cylinder and an opening for receiving a piston, the opposite end of the cylinder being adapted to detachably receive a hypodermic needle. The syringe also employed a piston extending slidably through said opening and being aligned with and centered on the axis of the cylinder, there being a liquid tight seal between said piston and said cylinder, one end of said piston being disposed outside said cylinder, said one end being enlarged and designated as a head, whereby when said cylinder and piston are held in one hand and said first flange and head are squeezed together, injection action ensues.

  • Patent number: 4464173
Abstract: A first hollow elongated cylinder has a first inner diameter. One end of the first cylinder is open. The opposite end of the first cylinder is provided with sealed tip adapted to detachably receive a hypodermic needle. A second hollow elongated cylinder has a second and larger inner diameter. One end of the second cylinder is open. The opposite end of the second cylinder has centered therein a circular port with a diameter equal to the first diameter. The cylinders are disposed end to end along a common cylindrical axis. The opposite end of the second cylinder is secured to the open end of the first cylinder with said port being coincident with the open end of the first cylinder. A sealing disc is centered on said axis and is slidable back and forth in said cylinders along said axis, said disc having a diameter equal to said first diameter and when disposed in said first cylinder engaging the inner surface thereof with a liquid tight seal.

  • Patent number: 4452106
Abstract: A tool, such as tweezers or scissors, having articulated opposing jaws is disclosed. The tool comprises a handle having first and second opposing arms projecting from a section by which the arms are joined, the arms being normally spaced throughout their length and being resiliently flexible toward each other. Each arm includes an elongate cavity extending longitudinally thereof and having an opening at the end of the arm. Jaw inserts are provided, and each has a working end for manipulating or cutting an object and an elongate shank that is received by one of the cavities to secure the jaw insert to its respective arm. The tool further includes a mechanism for guiding each working end in a single plane of movement with respect to the opposing arm upon flexing of the arms toward each other to substantially avoid undesirable lateral flexing of the opposing working ends with respect to each other.

  • Patent number: 4318313
Abstract: Tweezer forceps in which the gripping arms and end section at which they are joined are formed of a single sheet of resilient sheet material, the arms and end section forming an integral spring-element disposed within the plane of the sheet material, such that the arms flex edgewise into and out of gripping engagement at their tips. Finger pieces are provided on the arms for engagement by the user's fingers when squeezing them together. Provision may also be made for aligning the arms against lateral displacement, and a jaw-locking device may be provided.
