  • Publication number: 20080101903
Abstract: As will be discussed in greater detail herein, a transport system is used to move wheeled structures, such as beds. A wheeled bed will be used as the depicted implementation, but other wheeled structures can also be moved by the transport system. The compact design of the transport system allows the transport system when coupled with a bed to be maneuvered through space restricted areas such as elevators.

  • Publication number: 20040194678
Abstract: Telescoping legs having outer and inner leg members increases stability of an adjustable worktable. The outer leg member has a tubular cross section of a geometric shape to accommodate the cross section of the inner leg member so that the inner leg member fits into the outer leg member. The assembly includes one or more sets of one or more protrusions inwardly projecting from the interior surface of the outer leg member to guide the inner leg member into the outer leg member. In their locations, the protrusions serve to further minimize the gap between the outer leg member and the inner leg member of the telescoping leg assemblies, thereby further improving the stability of the adjustable table. The protrusions are made by crimping, forming, additional hardware, or through other procedures.

  • Patent number: 6223915
Abstract: Apparatus for securely retaining hangers includes a hanger bar, a retainer bar, and a pair of end assemblies. Each end assembly is coupled to an end of the hanger bar and has a pair of guide walls projecting away from the hanger bar to form a guide channel. The retainer bar is slideably disposed and moveable within the guide channel between an open position and a clamping position to engage and secure the hangers to the hanger bar. A latching mechanism is attached to each end assembly and is engageable with the retainer bar to secure the retainer bar in the clamping position. The latching mechanism is preferably at least partially disposed between the guide walls to protect the latching mechanism from accidental bumping, thereby reducing unintentional disengagement of the latching mechanism. The apparatus can include at least one biasing member that urges the retainer bar away from the hanger bar to facilitate loading or unloading of the hanger bar.

  • Patent number: 5745951
Abstract: A caster assembly mountable to a frame leg of a movable frame structure having a caster receiving aperture therein. The caster assembly of a preferred embodiment includes a caster having a caster fork, a caster wheel attached to the caster fork, and a mounting shaft attached to a caster fork. The mounting shaft is shaped and sized to extend through the aperture in the frame portion when the caster assembly is in an installed position wherein the caster is adjacent to a bottom side of the frame leg and an intermediate portion of the mounting shaft is adjacent to a top side of the frame leg. The mounting shaft has an generally flat blocking surface extending along a portion of the shaft such that the blocking surface is adjacent to the aperture in the frame leg when the caster is in the installed position. A locking washer is removably connected to the mounting shaft and is mountable to the frame leg.
