  • Publication number: 20060210505
Abstract: Multi-phase personal care compositions comprise a first phase and a second phase, wherein said first and second phases form a visually distinct pattern. The compositions are intended for moisturizing or conditioning skin or hair and comprise less than about 10%, by weight of the multi-phase personal care composition, of surfactant. Methods of moisturizing or conditioning skin or hair comprise the steps of wetting the skin or hair, applying the multi-phase personal care composition to the skin or hair, and rinsing the multi-phase personal care composition from the skin or hair. A process for making the multi-phase personal care composition comprises forming a first phase by premixing an oil/emollient benefit agent and oil-soluble colorant and then combining the premix with additional optional ingredients.

  • Publication number: 20060182699
Abstract: A rinsable personal care composition includes (a) 0 to 75 weight percent of a composition surfactant; (b) 0.01 to 99 weight percent of a skin benefit agent or emollient; (c) 0.01 to 20 weight percent of a hydrophobically modified non-platelet particle; and (d) 0 to 99% water.

  • Publication number: 20050173463
Abstract: A linear and rotary actuated liquid dispensing pump is provided which offers precise high speed dispensing of liquids and easy volume adjustability. The dispensing pump includes an inlet for receiving a supply of liquid, an outlet for dispensing a metered amount of liquid, and a cavity in communication with the inlet and outlet. The pump has a plunger disposed within a cavity for controlling the amount of liquid within the cavity. The pump also has a rotary actuator for rotating the plunger, and a linear actuator for actuating the plunger linearly within the cavity to control the fill and dispensing of liquid. A controller controls the linear and rotary actuators and allows operation input to adjust variables.

  • Patent number: 4931368
Abstract: An electrochemical cell having a cell housing that contains the active components of the cell; the cell housing having a vent liner containment section that comprises a sealing well having a bottom disposed toward the interior of the cell, an orifice in the sealing well and a support ledge at the bottom of the sealing well; a vent liner having a vent liner orifice disposed within the sealing well so that an end of the vent liner abuts the support ledge, the orifice in the sealing well and the vent liner orifice providing a path from the interior of the cell to the atmosphere; and a seal member force-fitted within the vent liner, wherein the vent liner and the seal member are adapted so that the seal member will be at least partially expelled from the vent orifice at a predetermined internal gas pressure within the cell.

  • Patent number: 4663247
Abstract: A sealed galvanic cell comprising a container and a cover having a coiled electrode assembly disposed in the container. The coiled electrode assembly has an inner exposed electrode of one polarity and an outer exposed electrode of the opposite polarity. A flexible electrically conductive member secured to the cover makes electrical contact with the inner exposed electrode and exerts a radially outward force therein while the outer exposed electrode makes electrical contact with the wall of the container.

  • Patent number: 4476202
Abstract: A two-piece cover for galvanic cells wherein the inner cover has at least one aperture therein through which electrolyte may be quickly dispensed and absorbed into a container having cell components therein in a manner which effectively prevents the sealing surfaces of the cell from being wetted by electrolyte.
