Abstract: A safety sensing system implements a method for a person in an industrial environment comprises providing a personnel locator device (10) for location on a person and a reference system comprising a plurality of nodes (20) located at predetermined ocations in the industrial environment (100). Radio ranging signals are transmitted between the nodes (20) and the personnel locator device (10) and measurements of times of flight of the radio ranging signals are derived. The location of the personnel locator device (10) is calculated based on the measurements of the times of flight of the radio ranging signals and reference information representing the predetermined locations of the nodes (10). It is determined if the calculated location of the personnel locator device (10) is within ne or more danger zones in the industrial environment (100) and a warning signal is output in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 11588529
Abstract: Beam management enhancements for advanced millimeter wave (mmWave) operations are disclosed. As a part of channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration, a user equipment may include an interference plus noise measurement of beams for consideration in beam management. The UE measures a set of signaling resources of each beam for power contribution and interference plus noise. According to the particular configuration, the UE may rank all of the available beams into a subset of the highest ranked beams, ranked either by the interference plus noise measurement, by the power contribution metric, or by a combination of both. The UE reports an identification of the subset to the serving base station which determines the beam to use for subsequent communications with the UE.

  • Patent number: 11563510
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Communications by wireless devices may be modified when beam pair links (BPLs) experience decreased link quality. For example, a controlling wireless device may communicate with a secondary wireless device using a set of BPLs. The controlling and secondary wireless device may each cycle through the set of BPLs at respective times of a communication time period. Upon detecting one or more BPLs having a decreased link quality during a portion of the communication time period, the controlling wireless device may transmit a configuration modifying the communications. For instance, the modified communications may include replacing the one or more BPLs with different BPLs having a relatively higher link quality. In other cases, the modified communications may include using repeated transmissions during the portion of the communication time period or excluding the BPLs experiencing decreased link quality from the communication time period.

  • Patent number: 11546025
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for precoding for multi-panel uplink transmission. For codebook-based uplink transmission, a user equipment (UE) can determine one or more preferred or selected precoders for uplink transmission. The precoders can be from an expanded UE codebook that maps a first number of transmit layers at the UE to a second number of antenna ports at the UE, the layers and/or antenna ports associated with multiple uplink transmit panels at the UE. The UE sends an indication to a base station (BS) of the determined precoders and/or sends an uplink transmission using the determined precoders. For non-codebook based uplink transmission the UE receives first and second reference signals (RSs), from first and second ports of a BS, with first and second UE antenna panels. The UE computes precoders to use for uplink transmission based on the RSs.
