  • Patent number: 9055738
Abstract: A portable and collapsible game animal lifting apparatus comprising a horizontal base member, a vertical support member pivotably attached to the base member, a horizontal lift member pivotably and slidably attached to the support member, and a winch attached to the support member. The winch is operably connected to the lift member for raising and lowering the lift member. The winch is operable to unwind a winch cable from the winch and thereby lower the lift member to receive the game animal thereupon. The winch is further operable to wind the winch cable about the winch and thereby raise the lift member to a desired height to assist in transferring the game animal to a transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9056623
Abstract: A game animal transporting apparatus having a support tube attachable to the rear hitch of a transport vehicle and a support frame attachable to the support tube to function as an exterior cargo carrier. The support frame is rotatable in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction for ease of loading objects onto the support frame. The support frame is lockable in a horizontal position for transport. The support frame is detachable from the support tube. A handle and wheel assembly are attachable to the support frame to form a mobile utility cart. The cart can be wheeled to a remote location to retrieve a game animal and then returned to the transport vehicle, after which, the support frame can be secured to the support tube, the handle and wheel assembly can be detached, and the game animal can be transported to another location.

  • Patent number: 6182792
Abstract: A climbing tree stand for hunting or other outdoor activity includes a platform and tubular frame members connected thereto and at least partly supporting the platform. A yoke is connected to the platform for engaging the tree and a cable couples the platform to the tree with the ends of the cable carrying a series of nuts securely mounted thereadjacent. Cleats are positioned at the tubular frame members for releasably securing the cable ends using the nuts on the cables. The cleats include keyhole-shaped openings and moveable covers for covering the openings. The yoke includes two sections which are oriented at an acute angle with respect to each other to partly straddle the tree.

  • Patent number: 5937969
Abstract: A portable tree seat for temporary mounting to a tree includes a frame which has an upright stanchion and a lower fork mounted thereto for partly straddling a tree. An upper lug is mounted to an upper portion of the upright stanchion and a generally U-shaped armrest frame is mounted to the upright stanchion. A seat bottom is suspended from the armrest frame and a lanyard is coupled to the upper lug and adapted to be draped about and secured about the tree to suspend the frame from the tree. With this construction, the portable tree seat is suspended by the lanyard and is stabilized by the fork partly straddling the tree.

  • Patent number: 5413192
Abstract: A tree stand includes a platform attachable to a tree so as to be substantially horizontal and a pivotally connected seat structure. The seat structure includes a first U-shaped member attachable to the tree, and a V-shaped member with its splayed arms pivotally connected to the U-shaped member. A flexible seat material is suspended between the apex of the V-shaped member and the transverse portion of the U-shaped member so as to make a seat conformable to the posterior of the outdoorsman, when seated. The seat element is pleated so as to be bowl-shaped to more naturally conform to the outdoorsman's posterior.

  • Patent number: 5226505
Abstract: A climbing device for a tree or other vertical columnar member having one or two generally parallel platforms, each having either fixed or pivoting members on each side. The members may be in substantially the same plane as the platform, extend along the sides of the tree, and are joined together by a connecting member, so as to encircle the tree. The two members attached to the platform may form an acute angle which allows climbing a broader range of trees, especially larger trees. The connecting member may be lengthwise adjustable to compensate for variable spacing of the two side members and also provides the means for them to be joined together. The platform(s) is supported and braced underneath by several members which terminate together to engage the tree in compression by means of two curved arches, leaving the top of the platform(s) substantially free from obstructions.

  • Patent number: 4991690
Abstract: A portable hunting ladder has a base section and one or more slidably connected ladder sections. Each ladder section has a stand-off device and a device for securing the section to the tree being climbed. The ladder sections are fabricated from tubular cross-section members while the rungs are fashioned from U-shaped channel elements. Each ladder section has a length which is less than the height of a man so that it can be secured while standing on the next lower section. The ladder rungs are only wide enough for one foot.
