Abstract: Various embodiments directed to a cascading a network apparatus for scalability. In one or more embodiments, an apparatus may comprise an extensible markup language (XML) device to receive a content based message comprising a header, a destination Internet Protocol (IP) address, and destination port number via one or more received packets. The XML device may have a configuration and process the content based message only if the received packets comprise a destination IP address and destination port number that match the configuration of the XML device. The XML device may forward processed content based message via one or more packets that differ from the received packets. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Various embodiments are described for performing pattern matching for content based switching. In one embodiment, an apparatus may include a document parser and a pattern parser. The document parser may be arranged to parse a document having transaction information and to create a document object from the transaction information. The pattern parser may be arranged to parse pattern information of a pattern for one or more elements according to a predefined pattern object data structure and to place the elements in appropriate blocks within the pattern object data structure. Abstract: An apparatus, such as a transforming switch, is provided that includes a transformer to transform a message from a first format to a second format, and a switch to switch the message to a selected server or processing node. The apparatus may also include a security accelerator to decrypt and encrypt messages and a validation accelerator to pre-validate the received messages.
