  • Publication number: 20020010015
Abstract: A method and system for playing reverse keno. In one embodiment, the reverse keno system allows users to play reverse keno while they are visiting various web sites. The reverse keno system allows a user to select an initial set of numbers from a larger set of numbers. The reverse keno system then highlights the selected numbers on a reverse keno board, which may be very similar to a keno board. After the user selects the numbers, the reverse keno system then identifies a group of numbers from the numbers 1 to 80. The reverse keno system then removes the identified numbers on the reverse keno board. If any of the selected numbers have been removed, then the reverse keno game is over and the user may be awarded a consolation prize. If, however, all selected numbers remain, then the game continues. The reverse keno system then identifies and removes another set of numbers. If none of the identified numbers match the selected numbers (that is, all the selected numbers remain), then the game continues.

  • Patent number: 6319125
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a bonusing promotion system using a bonus server interconnected to a plurality of gaming devices is described. A percentage of a wager played on each gaming device is accumulated into a bonus pool stored on the bonus server. The bonus pool is compared to a threshold value stored on the bonus server each time the bonus pool changes. One of the gaming devices is selected when the threshold value is substantially met. A bonus prize funded by the bonus pool is awarded to the selected gaming device.

  • Publication number: 20010034649
Abstract: A method and system for encouraging users to click through an area of a display by the allocation of tokens. The token allocation technique coordinates the allocation of tokens provided by a token service to users who access web pages of a displaying web site. The displaying web site generates a web page with an advertisement that includes an indication that a token of the token service will be allocated to the user when the user selects (e.g., clicks through) the advertisement. When the user clicks through the advertisement, the token is associated with the user and the advertised web page is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20010034643
Abstract: A method and system for displaying advertisements to a user is provided. In one embodiment, the advertisement system downloads a collection of advertisements from an advertising server to the user's computer. When the user executes a computer program at the user's computer, the advertisement system displays the downloaded advertisements to the user. Thus, the advertisements can be displayed to the user even when the user's computer is not connected to the Internet.

  • Publication number: 20010031664
Abstract: A method for providing incentive to players of networked slot machines includes a card reader associated with each machine and a card associated with each player. A player account accessible by a host computer on the network is created which associates the player's card with the account. A predetermined credit is applied to the player's account. In a complementary incentive, credit from the player's account is applied to the coin-in meter of a slot machine responsive to insertion of the player card into a card reader associated with the machine. In a matching incentive also implemented by the present invention, each time the player inserts a coin into the slot machine, an equal credit is debited from the player's account and applied to the coin-in meter of the machine. In both cases, the credit can only be used by the player to play the machines and cannot be cashed out by the player.
