  • Publication number: 20150351325
Abstract: An efficient scalable networkable grow light system ensures that a DLI suitable for optimal plant growth without causing heat stress is met by selectively illuminating lighting elements of determined wavelengths, and adjusting intensity of the lighting elements, and adjusting the height of an assembly containing the lighting elements, if sensed ambient light is inadequate to meet the DLI. A hoist adjusts height to provide full illumination without causing heat stress, while reducing inefficiency due to excessive distance. If sensed ambient lighting is sufficient to meet the DLI, supplemental lighting is not activated.

  • Patent number: 6955610
Abstract: An apparatus is provided that allows individuals of diverse skill levels to improve their respective sports-related swings. The apparatus provides visual, auditory and tactile feedback as to whether an individual is correctly “loading”, “retaining”, and “releasing” the inherent power of the training apparatus. The training apparatus enables an individual to fine tune his/her swing to maximize power delivery, e.g., in driving a golf ball, striking a hockey puck, or hitting a baseball. A slidable member is provided that moves along a shaft between an upper member and a lower member. A retaining mechanism restrains the slidable member in a cocked position, i.e., in juxtaposition with the upper member, until a predetermined force is created through swinging of the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20050068771
Abstract: A light device including side emitting status indicators that provide a true indication of whether light is being output in a primary output direction. The light device includes a light source of at least one LED configured to generate light in the primary output direction. The light generated by the at least one LEDs passes through a lens device, that may also reflect a portion of the light generated from the at least one LED. Collection optics are provided to capture a portion of the generated light and/or the reflected portion of the light generated from the light source, and are configured to output the captured generated and/or reflected light in a direction other than the primary direction, i.e., in a direction for the side emitting status indicators.

  • Patent number: 6127784
Abstract: Circuitry for driving an LED array and a lamp including such circuitry. A fixed current source outputs a fixed current to an LED array. A variable load is provided in parallel to the LED array to also receive an output from the fixed current power supply. The variable load senses a condition affecting a luminous output of the LED array and varies an impedance based on this sensed condition. This variable load may typically include a thermistor or a photodetector. As the impedance of the variable load changes, current diverted from the LED to the variable load changes. Thereby, current supplied to the LED array, and thereby the intensity LED, can be controlled based on the impedance changing element in the variable load.
