Abstract: A method for wirelessly transferring operational information to an RFID reader using a tag-reader air interface. An RFID tag emulator capable of formatting operational information for an RFID reader into a standard RFID tag transmission signal format and transmitting it as a standard RFID tag transmission signal that may be read by a standard RFID reader. An RFID reader that can read information formatted in a standard RFID tag transmission signal format and extract operational information and storing it for use in the operation of the RFID reader.

A network permits communication between the hardware device and a server and deactivation of an existing security system which may include a tag device on the purchased good. The server stores the purchase information and the copy of the related receipt.

Abstract: An automated sell system comprises a hardware device for inputting product information onto a server. A network allows a user to access the product information together with a means for generating a coded file of the product information for use as an advertisement on a website. Preferably the advertisement is presented in accordance with appropriate marketing practices. In one embodiment, the means for generating the coded file is run by a single command.
