    Abstract: An audio file delivery system is disclosed that provides user recorded audio files and/or stock audio files selected by the user to a designated recipient. A user accessing a user interface may select one or more stock audio files from audio files stored in memory of an audio file server. The user may also record an audio file with a spoken greeting that is saved to server memory. The server storing the audio files may call the user to record the spoken greeting. At a specified time the server connects to a phone of a recipient and replays the files selected and recorded by the user. The audio file delivery may be associated with purchase and/or delivery of merchandise.

The receiver 9 receives one or more first, second and/or third signals from first, second and third sensors 15, 17 and 19 respectively. When the control means 7 receives a signal from the receiver 9 indicating that the current mode of contrast and/or color is to be changed, the control means 7 selects an associated pre-defined mode of contrast and/or color from the memory 11 in order to optimize the visibility of the display screen 3, subject to the amount of supply voltage available.

    Abstract: A landing gear support assembly comprises a first support member, for example a gear rib, extending from the rear spar of an aircraft, and a pintle support assembly for holding a pintle on which a landing gear assembly may be supported. The pintle support assembly is distinct from the rear spar, and is arranged such that the longitudinal axis of a pintle is offset from the support member in a direction along the length of the rear spar. This arrangement may allow a stowed landing gear assembly to be wholly contained within the aircraft wing. The landing gear support assembly may contain additional structure, for example a composite false spar, for distributing loads to various regions of the rear spar. The additional structure may also form a torsion box which reduces the stress and shear force transmitted to the rear spar.

    Abstract: A text to speech (TTS) system converts text to speech and involves determining the correct pronunciation. In addition to the correct pronunciation, many TTS systems control how the text is spoken by defining a particular speech mode. A speech mode may be defined as to at least the prosody, i.e. the speech rhythms, stresses on various words, changes in pitch, rate of speaking, changes in volume and how the text is spoken in terms of currency values, dates, times etc amongst other features. The present invention relates to a method for encoding enhanced speech data. The enhanced speech data is simple, easy to use, easy to learn, uses keyboard features already on the terminal device in which the TTS system is embedded and is independent of any of the markup languages or modifications applied when designing the TTS system in situ. Thus, the output text is customised to improve the quality of the speech and enables users to personalise their messages.
