  • Patent number: 11696997
Abstract: A distal end portion of an elongate shaft member of a catheter may be inserted into a liquid within a vessel. While the distal end portion of the elongate shaft member is inserted in the liquid in the vessel, a manipulable portion of the catheter may be manipulated within the liquid to remove an undesired fluid therefrom. The liquid may be pressurized to cause the liquid to flow into a lumen of the elongate shaft member from a distal end of the elongate shaft member at least toward a proximal end of the elongate shaft member to facilitate flushing of the undesired fluid from the lumen. The distal end portion of the elongate shaft member of the catheter may be inserted into the liquid within the vessel while at least the elongate shaft member is in a substantially horizontal orientation.

  • Publication number: 20230200459
Abstract: A wearable article includes a front and back elastic belts, a crotch region, a waist opening, and leg openings. Each elastic belt is a laminate having an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and an elastic member. Elastic adhesive bonding continuously bonds the elastic member for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch adjacent the side edges of the belts. A discrete patterned adhesive bonding is applied to at least one of the inner and outer sheets to intermittently bond the inner and outer sheets. The discrete patterned adhesive bonding extends substantially along the transverse direction between the elastic adhesive bonding, and substantially along the longitudinal direction between the distal and proximal edges of the elastic belts. The same adhesive agent provides the elastic adhesive and discrete patterned adhesive bonding. Heat bonds form side seams, and the remainder of the laminate is free of heat bonds.

  • Publication number: 20230206701
Abstract: A multi-purpose truncated triangular pyramidal shaped cone is used as a sports field marker having a multi-sided shape with sides sloping at approximately 102.5° upward for the support of a smartphone with camera(s) leaning against a side to provide a stable view and record a timed finish of an athlete crossing a finish line of a race. The smartphone is secured to a side of the cone by an intermediate clamp holder having tapered resilient plugs pressed into receiving holes in the cone side. In an alternate use, plural cones are used to hold ends of a horizontal hurdle bar. This bar is raised higher by stacking identical hollow cones forming a stack with a long pole extending through a hole in a flat top surface of a top truncated cone. The pole is secured along a vertical axis of the cone stack by set screws converging along their axes from holes on each side of the pyramidal cone. A bowed cradle is mounted atop the pole to hold the horizontal hurdle bar.

  • Patent number: 11688581
Abstract: Apparatuses for collection of upstream and downstream transmission electron microscopy (TEM) cathodoluminescence (CL) emitted from a sample exposed to an electron beam are described. A first fiber optic cable carries first CL light emitted from a first TEM sample surface, into a spectrograph. A second fiber optic cable carries second CL light emitted from a second TEM sample surface into the spectrograph. The first and second fiber optic cables are positioned such that the spectrograph produces a first light spectrum for the first fiber optic cable and a separate light spectrum for the second fiber optic cable. The described embodiments allow collection of TEM CL data in a manner that allows analyzing upstream and downstream TEM CL signals separately and simultaneously with an imaging spectrograph.

Abstract: A method for stabilizing a motion of a rotor blade of a rotor comprising the steps: read into a controller, a measurement from a sensor responsive to said rotor blade; determine an out-of-compliance motion of the rotor blade; and output a first control signal to an actuator affecting the rotor blade such that a vibration mode of said rotor blade is dampened. The damping may be achieved by changing the drag, lift or torsion of the rotor blade. The out-of-compliance motion may be a lead, lag, upward motion, downward motion or twist of the rotor blade away from a nominal value.

  • Publication number: 20230177009
Abstract: Described herein are technologies that provide an element of security related to file system operations. Individual nodes in a file system, such as a directory or a file, can be associated with information that describes how to handle letter case when a file name included in a file system operation request is used to locate a file in the file system. For example, a case sensitive designation associated with a directory can require a case sensitive match between a file name included in a request and a file name included in the directory, in order to perform the requested file system operation. In another example, a case preferring designation associated with a directory first checks for a case sensitive match between file names. If a case sensitive match does not exist, then a case insensitive match between the file names can be used to perform the requested file system operation.

  • Publication number: 20230178779
Abstract: The invention relates to a proton flow reactor for use in storing and releasing energy. In use, a slurry of storage particles in a liquid electrolyte may pass through a first half cell of the proton flow reactor. When the proton flow reactor is in charge mode, protons are bonded or otherwise attracted to the storage particles to form charged storage particles charged with hydrogen, which can hen be stored and/or transported for later use. When the proton flow reactor is in discharge mode, protons are removed from the charged storage particles to fuel an electrochemical reaction, thereby generating electricity. Alternatively, the proton flow reactor in discharge mode can be configured to generate hydrogen gas directly from the in-flowing charged carbon particles.

  • Patent number: 11665095
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device of a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) receives, from a cloud-native application, contextual data for the cloud-native application that identifies microservices of the cloud-native application. The device translates the contextual data for the cloud-native application into a network policy for traffic in the SD-WAN associated with the cloud-native application. The device applies the network policy to a traffic flow in the SD-WAN between an endpoint and a particular microservice of the cloud-native application.

  • Patent number: 11660502
Abstract: An athlete wearing footwear measures jump heights with a motion sensor mounted on the footwear over toes of the athlete. By sensing vertical jump start motions the sensor detects jump start and finish times of ?4 g start and ?4 g landing. The sensor, a body wearable mems sensor developed by JAWKU, L.L.C., has a previously installed generic factory scale calibration factor. The athlete replaces this calibration factor with a new calibration scale factor selecting an “absolute” external reference device which measures jump height. This device measures several jump heights then inputted to an algorithm app in the sensor to calculate the new calibration scale factor customized to the actual athlete. The motion sensor has built in programming apps to periodically receive an upgraded factory scale calibration factor which upgrade is based on an ever increasing data pool of jump heights.
