  • Publication number: 20220011564
Abstract: An optical system comprising includes an off-axis folded three mirror anastigmat (TMA) telescope including a primary mirror for receiving energy from a scene. A secondary mirror is aligned to receive reflected energy from the primary mirror. A fold mirror is aligned to receive reflected energy from the secondary mirror. A tertiary mirror is aligned to receive reflected energy from the fold mirror and to direct energy between the secondary mirror and the fold mirror. A beam splitter is aligned to receive energy reflected from the tertiary mirror, to reflect a portion of that energy to a first imaging sensor, and to pass a second portion of that energy to a second imaging sensor.

  • Patent number: 10488082
Abstract: A cooling system includes a first dewar configured to house a first optical imaging device, a second dewar configured to house a second optical imaging device, and a Stirling cycle refrigerator. The Stirling cycle refrigerator can include a compressor, a first expander in fluid communication with the compressor and in thermal communication with the first dewar, and a second expander in fluid communication with the compressor and in thermal communication with the second dewar.

Date of Patent: November 26, 2019
    Assignee: Goodrich Corporation
Inventors: Joseph W. Landry, John Anthony Tejada
  • Patent number: 10310256
Abstract: A beamsplitter includes an optical substrate with a first surface configured to receive a beam of multi-spectral light, to reflect a first band of the multi-spectral light and to transmit a second band of the multi-spectral light through the optical substrate to be emitted from a second surface of the optical substrate opposite the first surface. The second surface is a freeform surface. A system includes a telescope configured to focus multi-spectral light into a beam. The system also includes a beamsplitter as described above optically coupled to the telescope so the first surface of the beamsplitter is configured to receive the beam of multi-spectral light from the telescope.

  • Patent number: 6873467
Abstract: A method for providing optical alignment for a visible wavelength reflective system is provided. The method includes positioning a first mirror blank on a lathe fixture. The first mirror blank comprises a single precision pinhole. The first mirror blank is secured to the lathe fixture. A first mirror is generated from the first mirror blank.

  • Patent number: 6747256
Abstract: A system and method for optical alignment of a color imaging system includes illuminating a target plate with a laser beam. Photo-luminescent energy from the target plate is emitted in response to the laser beam. A color imaging system is aligned based on the photo-luminescent energy emitted at the target plate.
