  • Patent number: 9042105
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with a printed circuit board having padded through-holes. The padded through-holes may be formed from openings in a printed circuit board substrate and elastomeric members in the openings. The elastomeric members may be conductive elastomeric members such as electrically or thermally conductive elastomeric members. The printed circuit board may be secured within a housing for the electronic device using engagement members that extend through padded through-holes. The engagement members may engage with the housing or with additional engagement members that are attached to the housing. The electronic device may include a cowling structure formed over electronic components on a surface of the printed circuit board. The cowling structure may be secured to the printed circuit board using attachment members that engage with the engagement members in the padded through-holes.

  • Patent number: 8857367
Abstract: Connector structures for electronic devices may be provided with moisture indicators. The connector structures may include a connector such as data port connector that has a rear opening. A moisture barrier structure may cover the rear of the data port connector and may have an opening that is aligned with the rear opening. A moisture indicator may cover the opening in the moisture barrier structure. A transparent window structure such as a layer of clear film may be used to prevent moisture from traveling through the rear opening of the data port connector and the opening in the moisture barrier structure to the moisture indicator. An audio port connector may be provided with a moisture indicator and a transparent window structure that helps prevent moisture from reaching the moisture indicator through the audio port connector.

  • Patent number: 8480422
Abstract: This is directed to connector assemblies for electric cables, and methods of manufacturing the same, that may include a body molded about one or more connections made between one or more conductive leads of the electric cable and one or more electrical contacts of the connector assembly. The molded body may provide support to the connections and may maintain the relative positions of the traces for functionally aligning exposed portions of the traces with other connector assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20050240338
Abstract: A system and method for indicating required maintenance of an air filter used with an internal combustion engine. The system includes a throttle plate for adjusting an amount of airflow passing into cylinders of the engine. The system includes a throttle plate position sensor and a processor. The processor is responsive to a throttle plate position signal produced by the throttle plate sensor, for determining, as a function of such throttle plate position signal, whether the air filter is in need of maintenance. When a manifold absolute pressure sensor is provided, the processor is responsive to a first reading of such manifold absolute pressure sensor taken at a first time and at a second reading of the manifold absolute pressure sensor taken at a second time, for determining, as a function of a difference between such first and second readings whether the air filter is in need of maintenance.
