    Abstract: A variable speed wet sharpener having a support, at least one grinding stone rotatably mounted on the support and having a contacting surface, a container of coolant disposed in a vicinity of the grinding stone for cooling the contacting surface of the grinding stone, a motor having a rotatable drive shaft for rotating the grinding stone, and a speed controller linked to the motor and transmitting signals to the motor for controlling the speed of the drive shaft within a plurality of low speed settings that avoids significant ejection of the coolant from the contacting surface of the grinding stone.
