    Abstract: A non-skid surface composition for paper and paperboard products which is easy to apply and to clean up, which is noncorrosive and nontoxic, and which increases the coefficient of friction on the surfaces of products coated with the composition is provided. The composition does not interfere with the ability to recycle the paper to which it has been coated. The non-skid surface composition is applied as an aqueous suspension of colloidal silica or alumina with glycerine to the surfaces of a paper product.
