  • Patent number: 5714711
Abstract: A propellant grain composition for use in solid fuel rocket engines comprises a first reactant component consisting of an oxidizer. A polymeric barrier coating encapsulates the first reactant component and a second reactant component comprising a reducer fuel reactable with the oxidizer is coated thereon, A final polymeric coating is placed over the entire propellant grain to yield a unitary metal fuel-oxidizer propellant grain structure for use as a solid rocket fuel.

  • Patent number: 5218166
Abstract: The present invention relates to modified propellant compositions of either single or multiple based type which are obtained by resolvating a conventional, previously solvated nitrocellulose-based granular propellant with a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone followed by the addition of glycerine to replasticize the composition and create a slurry. Upon evaporation of the solvent, a waterproof and self-supporting explosive composition is produced which is extremely stable and resistant to impact, friction and static discharge.

  • Patent number: 4352515
Abstract: A rotatable ram bar apparatus having at least one ram bar assembly for attachment to a vehicle bumper, the assembly including a ram bar the outer side of the vehicle bumper for securing the bar to the bumper, the bracket including a shaft extending horizontally therefrom. The shaft includes first and second pin-engaging apertures. A pin is slidably mounted within the ram bar, one end of pin engaging the first pin-engaging apertures when the ram bar is in the first position, wherein the bar extends vertically with respect to the vehicle bumper, and engaging the second pin-engaging aperture when the ram bar is in the second position wherein the bar is substantially parallel to the vehicle bumper.

  • Patent number: 4227729
Abstract: A rotatable ram bar apparatus having at least one ram bar assembly for attachment to a vehicle bumper, the assembly including a ram bar, a bracket attachable to the outer side of the vehicle bumper for securing the bar to the bumper, a camming disc attached to the bracket, a mating disc attached to the ram bar, and biasing means for urging the two discs together. The camming disc includes a slot and the mating disc a corresponding key which lock together when the ram bar is in a vertical position extending above and below the vehicle bumper. Inclined guide surfaces terminating in a step are also provided on the camming disc. A removable bicycle carrier may be inserted into the top of the ram bar.

  • Patent number: 4095933
Abstract: A simple and highly efficient fuel handling and combustion system and method are provided. The system includes preheating coils surrounding a perforated outer secondary air cylinder and a perforated inside fire control cone, in which combustion occurs. After flowing through the preheating coils, the fuel is compressed in at least one compression chamber before being released to the interior of the inside fire control cone through a spud orifice. Air mixes with the fuel only after the fuel is released from the spud. Substantially 100% combustion is achieved.
