Abstract: Autonomous control of steering, speed, forward and reverse movement of a motor vehicle is provided by transmitting a signal from a transmitter carried by an ambulatory user, receiving the signal with three signal-receiving antennae on the motor vehicle, generating first, second and third sub-signals with a three-channel receiver connected to the three antennae, generating sum and difference outputs with the first and second sub-signals, affecting the steering with the difference output, affecting the speed, forward and reverse control with the sum output, generating a distance-to-user output from the third sub-signal, and limiting the proximity of the motor vehicle to the user with the distance-to-user output.

The alarm system includes at least one area alarm controller adapted to receive a first signal indicative of a condition of a first portion of the medical gas system. The area alarm controller is adapted to communicate with the network. The alarm system also includes at least one master alarm controller adapted to receive a second signal indicative of a condition of a second portion of the medical gas system. The master alarm controller is adapted to communicate with the network. The area alarm controller is adapted to communicate with the master alarm controller through the network.

Abstract: A redundantly ground plug having a live prong, a neutral prong, a first ground prong and a second groung prong arranged to be received in a live contact, a neutral contact, and a ground contact of a first socket and a ground contact of a second socket of a standard power supply such as a duplex receptacle or power strip is disclosed. A flexible boot extends from the plug to seal the prongs and contacts from moisture.

Abstract: A programmable automatic positioning chair for medical application. The chair has moveable support surfaces which are driven by electric motors to preprogrammed positions. Motor speed is determined by measuring the motor current, and the motor speed is integrated by a microprocessor to produce a computed value of surface position. The chair operates "open loop" without any feedback from position sensors.
