Publication number: 20260096662Abstract: A moving bed assembly includes a bed frame supported over a base frame by pivoting swing arms and driven in a controlled motion by a motor-driven shaft and drive arms. A protective barrier is mounted to the base frame to restrict access to moving components, and an electrical interlock disables the motor when the barrier is removed or displaced. The assembly also includes a crush detection system positioned along a perimeter of the bed frame or base frame. The crush detection system uses a compressible sensor tube containing a light emitter and a light sensor arranged to detect a transmitted light signal, with compression disrupting the signal and causing a controller to disable the motor until the obstruction is cleared and the system reset. The features provide controlled bed motion with enhanced safety.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2025Publication date: April 9, 2026Inventors: Thomas H. Slade, III, John Barrett

Patent number: 12514374Abstract: A moving bed assembly includes a base frame supporting a bed frame via a plurality of pairs of swing arms. A drive motor mounted on the base frame drives the bed frame through a continuous motion cycle through a drive shaft. Cranks are mounted at opposite ends of the drive shaft and connected to respective swing arms through respective drive arms. A shaft brake engages the drive shaft to prevent perceptible surges as the bed frame transitions through opposite extremes of the motion cycle.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2024Date of Patent: January 6, 2026Assignee: ZWAY, LLCInventors: Thomas H. Slade, III, John Barrett

Publication number: 20260002216Abstract: An immune classification tool useful for determining survival outcomes in cancer patients based on the abundance in gene expression of CD3E, ZAP70 and IRF4 in a cancer tissue sample. The immune classification tool is able to stratify cancer patients, including HPV+HNSCC, HPV?HNSCC and cervical cancer patients, into the three immune groups (immune rich, immune desert, and mixed) that are strongly associated with disease-free survival.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2023Publication date: January 1, 2026Inventors: Yu Fan Zeng, Anthony Nichols, John Barrett, Paul Boutros, Joseph Mymryk

Publication number: 20250204959Abstract: Spinal curvature modulation systems, methods and related devices and instrumentation are disclosed, which include a flexible tether, a tether tensioning unit and bone anchors for the flexible tether that allow the tether to be secured across multiple vertebrae in a region of treatment. When the flexible tether is attached to multiple vertebrae, it can be used to correct spinal deformities. Tension in the flexible tether is adjustable transcutaneously without invasive surgical procedures by use of remotely driven actuators, such as a magnet-driven motor, or by a small tool insertable through a small incision. Disclosed systems and methods thus allow for multiple adjustments of tether tension, and spinal curvature, over time without repeated, highly invasive, spinal surgeries.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2025Publication date: June 26, 2025Inventors: John Barrett, Murali Kadaba, John Ashley, Damien Shulock
