  • Patent number: 10484860
Abstract: A mobile communications terminal communicates data using a mobile communications network that includes base stations and mobility managers that can send and receive signalling packets for controlling user data communications between communications terminals and a destination. The communications terminal can communicate packets with the base stations via a wireless access interface provided by the base stations and send a signalling packet to the mobility managers, the signalling packet including user data intended for a destination, prior to establishing a signalling connection with the mobility managers. The mobility managers can, upon receiving a signalling packet from a communications terminal, detect the packet is not associated with any established signalling connection between the mobility managers and the communication device. The mobility managers can, responsive to the detection, transmit the user data in the signalling packet to the destination.

  • Publication number: 20190298417
Abstract: Spinal curvature modulation systems, methods and related devices and instrumentation are disclosed, which include a flexible tether, a tether tensioning unit and bone anchors for the flexible tether that allow the tether to be secured across multiple vertebrae in a region of treatment. When the flexible tether is attached to multiple vertebrae, it can be used to correct spinal deformities. Tension in the flexible tether is adjustable transcutaneously without invasive surgical procedures by use of remotely driven actuators, such as a magnet-driven motor, or by a small tool insertable through a small incision. Disclosed systems and methods thus allow for multiple adjustments of tether tension, and spinal curvature, over time without repeated, highly invasive, spinal surgeries.

  • Publication number: 20190295048
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to enhanced check processing systems with improved check validation features and enhanced information security. A computing platform may determine whether a correlation between source data and metadata associated with a check exceeds a predetermined correlation threshold. Based on determining that the correlation does not exceed the predetermined correlation threshold, the computing platform may direct an OCR computing system to perform character recognition on the check. Then, the computing platform may determine whether a discrepancy between the metadata and an OCR output from the OCR computing system exceeds a predetermined resolution threshold. In response to determining that the discrepancy between the OCR output and the metadata does not exceed the predetermined resolution threshold, the computing platform may update stored records associated with the check.

  • Publication number: 20190286900
Abstract: Systems for dynamically detecting duplicate items are provided. In some examples, a system, may receive a document, document image, document details or the like. The system may identify at least one other document for comparison to the received document. The system may perform optical character recognition on the document or document image to identify data within one or more standard fields of the document. The detected data may be compared to the at least one other document and, if no matches exist, the document may be identified as not a duplicate. If one or more matches exist, the system may identify x and y coordinates of a location of data within one or more standard fields on the received document. A corresponding location on the at least one other document may be identified based on the x and y coordinates.

  • Publication number: 20190172022
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide apparatuses and methods that help validate and process payment instruments for different products, such as but not limited to credit card payments, mortgage payments, or any other type of payment. The payment amount from a payment instrument may be determined from a multiple locations on the payment instrument. In addition, a payment amount may be determined from a remittance document that accompanies the payment instrument, such as a remittance coupon that is mailed along with a check. The amount in the remittance courtesy box, the minimum amount due, the last payment made, and the full balance remaining may all be captured and used to validate the amount on the payment instrument. Moreover, one or more confidence scores for the amounts on the payment instrument and remittance document may be used to validate the payment amount.

  • Publication number: 20190153675
Abstract: A method of measuring hydrophobic contaminants in a pulp slurry or a papermaking system includes the steps of providing an aqueous paper mill sample, filtering the aqueous paper mill sample to produce a filtrate comprising particles, and collecting an image of the particles in a measured volume of the filtrate. The method also includes the steps of analyzing the image to determine a size and morphology of the particles in the measured volume of filtrate, identifying spherical particles having a size of from about 1 micron to about 20 microns in the measured volume of filtrate, and quantifying a number of the spherical particles having the size of from about 1 micron to about 20 microns in the measured volume of filtrate. This method is useful for papermakers for deposition diagnostics, prevention, and contaminant control treatment optimization.
