  • Publication number: 20210398074
Abstract: A system includes one or more processors that determine: a characteristic of a cargo container scheduled for receipt into or travel out of a terminal; a characteristic of cargo handling equipment associated with the terminal and selected from cranes, lifts, conveyors, and elevators; a characteristic of a first transportation vehicle scheduled for entry into or travel out of the terminal; a characteristic of a different, second transportation vehicle scheduled for entry into or travel out of the terminal; a constraint associated with cargo handling operations involving transferring the cargo container via the cargo handling equipment; and a plan for the cargo handling equipment to transfer the cargo container within the terminal based on the characteristics and the constraint. The one or more processors initiate the cargo handling equipment to move the cargo container from the first transportation vehicle to the second transportation vehicle according to the plan.

  • Patent number: 11110945
Abstract: An intermodal terminal control system determines characteristics of cargo containers scheduled for receipt into and/or travel out of an intermodal terminal connected with both rail routes and automobile routes, determines characteristics of cargo handling equipment within the intermodal terminal, determines characteristics of rail vehicles scheduled for one or more of entry into or travel out of the intermodal terminal, and determines characteristics of automobile vehicles scheduled for entry into or travel out of the intermodal terminal. The system also determines constraints on cargo handling operations and a plan for the cargo handling equipment to transfer the cargo containers between the different modes of transportation within the intermodal terminal. The plan designates a sequence of operations to be performed in moving the cargo containers with the cargo handling equipment.

  • Patent number: 7875186
Abstract: The invention consists of a water treatment process using selective and regenerable weak base anion exchange resins to remove any number of complex anions, especially oxyanions including perchlorate, nitrate, chlorate, arsenate, selenate, and chromate, from aqueous solutions. The treatment process is comprised of three key processes including 1) pretreatment to lower pH, 2) ion exchange, and 3) post treatment to adjust pH and alkalinity. The invention also includes processes for regenerating weak base anion resins and treatment of the residuals generated. This invention employs pressurized treatment, carbon dioxide management, and reuse of regenerating solution to minimize pumping and treatment costs.

  • Publication number: 20050279638
Abstract: A nanomachined and micromachined electrode (10) is disclosed that is produced by providing a layer of aluminum (11) positioned upon a conductive substrate (12), anodizing the layer of aluminum to produce a layer of aluminum oxide (13) having an array of pores (14), depositing a sacrificial metal (17) within the pores of the aluminum oxide layer, etching the aluminum oxide layer so as to leave an array of sacrificial metal rods (18), depositing a layer of electrode material (19) between the array of sacrificial metal rods, and etching the sacrificial metal rods so that a layer of copper remains having an array of pores (20) where the sacrificial metal rods had existed. The layer of copper is the electrode (10).

  • Patent number: 6511516
Abstract: A method of producing a layer of lithiated material is provided wherein a mixture of Li(acac) and Co (acac)3 is dissolved in an aqueous solvent to produce a solution. The solution is deposited upon a substrate by atomizing the solution, passing the atomized solution into a heated gas stream so as to vaporize the solution, and directing the vaporized solution onto a substrate.
