  • Publication number: 20050121469
Abstract: The present disclosure provides approaches for reducing buildup of particulate-matter in particulate-matter-delivery systems. In some embodiments, a trough-shaped feeder is provided in which a rectangular-to-elliptical conduit extends from the trough-shaped feeder. The trough-shaped feeder has a substantially-rectangular feeder opening. The rectangular-to-elliptical conduit has an elliptical end and a rectangular end. The elliptical end of the rectangular-to-elliptical conduit has a substantially-elliptical conduit opening. Interfacing the storage hopper to the trough-shaped feeder via a elliptical-to-rectangular conduit reduces the particulate-matter-delivery system's susceptibility to bridges and rat holes.

  • Publication number: 20050014679
Abstract: The present invention provides an insulin molecule that provides a protracted, even basal duration of action. The insulin molecule comprises a modification at the N-terminus of the A-chain, optionally a modification at the N-terminus of the B-chain, a modification at a B-chain lysine, and optionally a modification at the C-terminus of the A-chain. The present invention also provides a method of treating diabetes mellitus comprising administering the insulin molecule.

  • Patent number: 6774318
Abstract: A removable material hopper assembly for gravimetric batch blenders including a hopper, a metering assembly and a releasable securing assembly. The hopper is removable from the blender, and includes a metering slide gate that can be used to tightly seal off the bottom of the hopper during the removable operation. The releasable securing assembly incorporates a tongue and groove subassembly and a pin and bracket subassembly to properly align and secure the hopper to the blender during operation, but also enables easy removal of the hopper when necessary.

  • Patent number: 6036474
Abstract: A gas burner for a fireplace. The burner comprises a burner housing having a grid of openings that are formed from heat resistant material. The housing has a first burner assembly and a second burner assembly arranged therein in a side-by-side relationship, each burner assembly having a chamber with a perforated gas distribution plate. The gas distribution plate is located adjacent the grid. Each of the burner assemblies has a gas mixing area with an inlet for primary air and combustible gas, and air flow controllers e.g. primary air shutters, for controlling the ratio of primary air to gas in the first burner assembly lower than the ratio in the second burner assembly.
