  • Publication number: 20240415181
Abstract: An electronic vaping device includes a heating element that is to be energized to convert a portion of a vaping material into a vapor by elevating a temperature of the vaping material. The vaping material, in a first thermal state, comprises a relatively-high viscosity. The electronic vaping device also includes airflow passage through which air entraining the vapor flows as a result of a user inhaling through a mouthpiece during a puff. A control circuit operates the heating element in a maintenance mode after the puff to maintain the vaping material in a second thermal state. The vaping material comprises a relatively-low viscosity in the second thermal state, and the relatively-high viscosity is greater than the relatively-low viscosity.

  • Publication number: 20240361285
Abstract: Provided are a system and method of reproducing individual puffs based on empirical data collected by a plurality of electronic vaping devices during use of the vaping devices by users to inhale vapors. The method involves receiving, over a communication network for each of the plurality of electronic vaping devices: (i) reservoir information indicative of a configuration of a reservoir storing a liquid that is at least partially converted into the vapor, and (ii) a plurality of operational parameters for each of a plurality of puffs drawn by the users. The operational parameters include a first operational parameter measured by a sensor system provided to the respective electronic vaping device. An evaluation vaping device is controlled to reproduce a puff by generating a vapor based on the received reservoir information and the received plurality of operational parameters in effect during the puff that is being reproduced.

  • Publication number: 20240023631
Abstract: An electronic vaping device comprises a heating element that is to be energized to convert a portion of a medium into a vapor by elevating a temperature of the medium, which comprises at least a first chemical constituent to be included in the vapor. Air entraining the vapor flows through an airflow passage as a result of a user inhaling through a mouthpiece during a puff. A sensor is arranged to sense a parameter indicative of an airflow rate of the air entraining the vapor flowing through the airflow passage. A controller controls operation of the heating element based on the airflow rate of the air indicated by the sensed parameter, controlling at least one of a concentration and/or a yield of the first chemical constituent, and/or a temperature of the vapor flowing through a mouthpiece based on the airflow rate indicated by the parameter sensed by the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20240023632
Abstract: An electronic vaporizer for solid and semi-solid materials which includes a controller, and a heating chamber whose walls are constructed from an electrically resistive material to perform both structural and heating functions. The controller is electrically connected to and supplies power to the heating chamber. The controller contains both a melting and an aerosolizing temperature setpoint according to the material loaded, and automatically sequences from one to the other after an appropriate delay. The vaporizer contains a sensor which detects the opening of the chamber and communicates this state to the controller, which pre-melts the material to the chamber during or after material loading.

  • Publication number: 20230397660
Abstract: Provided is an electronic vaping device that includes a heating element configured to convert a portion of a liquid into a vapor by elevating a temperature of the liquid. An airflow passage is defined by the vaping device to channel a stream of a fluid including air, or a combination of air and vapor, adjacent to the heating element as a result of a user inhaling through a mouthpiece. The stream of fluid flowing through the airflow passage entrains the vapor and transports the vapor toward the mouthpiece. A pre-heater is arranged upstream of the heating element to pre-heat at least a portion of the fluid to a pre-heated temperature. The pre-heated temperature is greater than an ambient temperature of the air that is introduced to the pre-heater. A controller independently controls the heating element and the pre-heater.

  • Publication number: 20230363454
Abstract: An electronic vaporizer with heating element electrical resistance recording and replay functionality, where the device makes a real-time recording of the electrical resistance of the heating element during operation, and the user is able to select a desirable puff from those recorded for replay. On subsequent puffs, the device control system modifies power delivery to achieve a similar profile of electrical resistance over time. Additionally, an electronic circuit implementing the same functionality.
