  • Patent number: 12515207
Abstract: Methods and catalysts for oxidizing ammonia to nitrogen are described. Specifically, diruthenium complexes that spontaneously catalyze this reaction are disclosed. Accordingly, the disclosed methods and catalysts can be used in various electrochemical cell-based energy storage and energy production applications that could form the basis for a potential nitrogen economy.

Date of Patent: January 6, 2026
    Assignee: Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation
Inventors: John Berry, Christian Wallen, Michael Trenerry, Tristan Brown, Sungho Park
  • Publication number: 20240399180
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for extinguishing a stovetop fire over a stovetop having a first burner, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the container. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over the first burner, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, at least a portion of the supply of fire suppressant material falls from the container toward the first burner.

  • Patent number: 9999791
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for extinguishing a stovetop fire over a stovetop having a first burner, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top, the container having a closure retained in a closed position on the container. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the container when the closure is in the closed position. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over the first burner, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, the closure moves to an open position and at least a portion of the supply of fire suppressant material falls toward the first burner.

  • Patent number: 9849315
Abstract: An apparatus for extinguishing a stovetop fire including a microwave positioned above the stove top, a compartment defined in the microwave; and a closure retained in a closed position on the microwave. A projection member is positioned within the compartment, the projection member retained in a retracted position while the closure is in the closed position. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the compartment when the closure is in the closed position, the supply of fire suppressant material including a second burner portion positioned against the projection member. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the microwave. When the microwave is positioned over a first burner on the stovetop, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, the closure moves to an open position and the projection member moves to an extended position, the projection member forcing the second burner portion toward a second burner.

  • Patent number: 9604081
Abstract: An apparatus for extinguishing a fire on a stovetop, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top, the container having a closure movable between an open and closed position on the container. A projection member is connected to the container, the projection member movable with respect to the container between a retracted and extended position. A supply of fire suppressant material is retainable within the container when the closure is in the closed position. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over a first burner, and the fire on the stovetop actuates the heat responsive actuator, the closure moves to the open position and the projection member moves to the extended position, the projection member forcing a second burner portion of the supply of fire suppressant material toward the second burner.

  • Publication number: 20070163191
Abstract: A mold resistant structural drywall track system is disclosed. In one embodiment, the track system comprises a base section, lower side wall, lateral support, and upper side wall. The lateral support supports wall material, such as gypsum board, above the floor to prevent moisture from wicking into the gypsum board. Additionally, ventilation and drainage means are included to allow for ventilation and drainage of moisture that may collect behind a wall. The base section, lower side wall, and lateral support generally form a cavity with the lower side wall substantially perpendicular to the base section. Preferably, the lower side wall is in the same plane as the finished wall surface above, thereby preventing damage to gypsum board, including any rubber base or resilient material installed over the gypsum board. The drywall track system may be employed with metal stud structures as well as wood frame structures.

  • Publication number: 20060242914
Abstract: A refractory block for forming a wall structure comprising a body of cast refractory material. The body has a front face, a back face, a top face, a bottom face, and two opposing side faces. The body further has a projection formed on the top face and a recess formed in the bottom face, the projection being dimensioned to be received within the recess such that a projection on a block can be received in a recess on a block thereabove. A refractory anchor is embedded within the body. The anchor has a portion extending from the body through the back face.
