  • Patent number: 12205258
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of imaging a downhole region of interest. In particular this invention relates to a method of processing images captured downhole to remove or reduce distortions due to the optical system as a function of the temperature experienced by the optical system in the downhole environment. A method of imaging a downhole region of interest comprises contemporaneously capturing an image of a region of interest and recording a temperature associated with the region of interest; selecting a pre-defined set of distortion data from a plurality of pre-defined sets of distortion data based on the recorded temperature; and applying the selected set of distortion data to the captured image to create an un-distorted image, wherein the pre-defined set of distortion data comprises distortion values associated with a range of field angles at a specified temperature.

  • Publication number: 20130141803
Abstract: A side entry TEM holder incorporates a miniature tilted off axis elliptical mirror to collect cathodoluminescence from the specimen and couple it efficiently into a tilted fiber optic integrated into the holder. The design is compatible with the cryogenic operation of the holder. TEM specimens are partially transparent to the electron beam, and so light can be emitted above and below the specimen. The same principle of off-axis mirror and tilted fiber can be utilized to collect light from above and below the specimen yet fit into the very confined space required by insertion through the goniometer and for operation between narrow gap pole pieces. With a dual system, the emission of light from above the specimen can be compared to that from below thereby enhancing the versatility of the analytical technique.

  • Publication number: 20050252043
Abstract: A “RED e” cleat is a disposable, one-piece, self-adhesive, all-surface footwear cleat having four primary components: a non-skid gripping surface, designed to address all sport, game, play and work foot-traction requirements, along with advertising needs, a color or reflective enhancement for safety, a cushioning layer which enhances foot comfort, as well as light production and a bonding layer which includes a self-adhesive surface for attaching a “RED e” cleat to any footwear. These four components combine to form a disposable, one-piece, self-adhesive, all-surface footwear cleat. The “RED e” cleat respectfully replaces the need for specialty footwear, such as golf shoes, which incorporates permanently implanted or attached devices for affixing traction gear to the underside of shoes.

  • Publication number: 20020178286
Abstract: A method of transmitting files from a remote source to a computer is provided. The computer is connected to a local area network (LAN) and an alternative transmission path. The alternative transmission path can include a video server and a broadband switch. Both the LAN and the alternative path are connected to a common router. The router includes bypass logic for routing the file to the computer either through the LAN or the alternative path. The alternative path can be used for the transmission of large files to prevent overloading the LAN.
