  • Publication number: 20200117714
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for replaying content dialogue in an alternate language in response to a user command. While the content is playing on a media device, a first language in which the content dialogue is spoken is identified. Upon receiving a voice command to repeat a portion of the dialogue, the language in which the command was spoken is identified. The portion of the content dialogue to repeat is identified and translated from the first language to the second language. The translated portion of the content dialogue is then output. In this way, the user can simply ask in their native language for the dialogue to be repeated and the repeated portion of the dialogue is presented in the user's native language.

  • Patent number: 10616649
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing media content recommendations. For example, a media guidance application may determine that a phrase spoken by a first user during a conversation with a second user indicates that the first user will not be consuming media content with the second user during a future time interval. In response to determining that the first user will not be consuming media content with the second user during the future time interval, the media guidance application may identify media assets available for consumption during the future time interval having a given characteristic favored by the second user and a characteristic disfavored by the first user. The media guidance application may then generate, for the future time interval, a media content recommendation of a media asset having the given characteristic, and generate for display, to the second user, the media content recommendation.

  • Publication number: 20190391788
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling different modes of operation based on a detected audio trigger. The systems and methods may generate an audio signature for a detected first sound and compare the audio signature with a plurality of registered audio signatures. In response to determining that the audio signature matches a first registered audio signature, the systems and methods may enable a first operational mode for a device that enables a first plurality of commands. In response to determining that the audio signature matches a second registered audio signature, the systems and methods may enable a second operational mode for a device that enables a second plurality of commands, where the second plurality of commands are different from the first plurality of commands.

  • Publication number: 20190320224
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for efficiently “catching-up” a user that is interested in a media asset when that user has missed a portion of the media asset while consuming the media asset together with other people. The system may detect that multiple people are consuming a media asset and may determine, based on a respective profile of each person, whether that person is interested in the media asset. When the system detects that the user is disregarding the media asset, the missed portion of the media asset is stored if the user is interested in the media asset, and is not stored if the user is not interested in the media asset.

  • Patent number: 10197639
Abstract: For locating a ferromagnetic object, a device has a non-magnetic housing with a perimeter wall, a front surface, and a rear surface. The perimeter wall defines a chamber within the housing. A stop element is located within the chamber between the front surface and the rear surface. A magnet element is housed within the chamber and is movable between a resting position, where the magnet element is proximate the stop element, and an active position, where the magnet element is proximate the front surface. The device has a mechanism for returning the magnet element to the resting position in the absence of a ferromagnetic object located proximate the front end of the device.

  • Publication number: 20180177351
Abstract: The washing apparatus includes a platform that includes an operator station. The platform is adapted to move along the upright surface during cleaning. The platform is positionable along the upright surface along a length of the platform. The washing apparatus includes a powered cleaning structure that has cleaning elements that are adapted to contact the upright surface during cleaning. The powered cleaning structure is supported by the platform along at least a portion of the length of the platform. The washing apparatus includes a hoist system constructed and arranged to move the platform along the upright surface of the structure with lift cables.

  • Publication number: 20180055298
Abstract: A building cleaning apparatus includes a platform adapted to be suspended along a side of a building. The platform includes a base and a barrier mounted on the base that encloses an operator work station. The building cleaning apparatus includes a building cleaning structure mounted beneath the base of the platform. The building cleaning structure includes a cleaning component that is driven by a motor. The cleaning component is mounted such that at least a portion of the cleaning component is directly beneath the base of the platform during cleaning of the building.

  • Publication number: 20170332140
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for transferring an interactive feature from a first device to a second device. Two users may be consuming a media asset. Upon receipt of a command to active an interactive feature, a determination is made whether a user who did not activate the interactive feature is interested in the media asset. Upon that determination, a timer is activated that tracks an amount of time for which the interactive feature is active and a determination is made whether a threshold time period has been met. Once the threshold time period is met, a device associated with the user that activated the interactive feature is identified and the users are prompted to transfer the interactive feature to the device.

  • Publication number: 20160176554
Abstract: A packaged baked food item, and a method for forming it, are disclosed. A film is laid over a tray containing moulds and a portion of dough deposited onto the film over each mould. The dough is baked to form an item having a face moulded by the inner surface of the mould and with the film conformed to it. A second film is extended over the first film and the films attached to each other to at least partially enclose the baked food item between the first and second films as a package. The first film may be pre-formed to the shape of the moulds prior to depositing the dough and baking. The method provides a means to facilitate packaging baked items, with a package mimicking the moulded shape of the underlying item, and may also be used to reduce the need for resurfacing of baking trays with non-stick layers.
