  • Patent number: 10938428
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods are directed to wireless receiver systems for neutralizing the effects of received RF blocking signals. The configurations presented herein operate to receive RF signals containing a desired signal and a blocking signal, a first module, in communication with the receive RF signals along a first signal path and configured to extract a specimen of the received desired and blocking signals, and a second module, in communication with the first module along a second signal path to receive the desired signal and blocking signal specimens. The second module is configured to produce a replica of the blocking signal based on the blocking signal specimen, generate an anti-blocking signal based on the blocking signal replica, and introduce the anti-blocking signal to the received desired and blocking signals in which the anti-blocking signal destructively interferes to neutralize the received blocking signal.

  • Patent number: 10469126
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for performing synchronization in a receiver of an analog code division spreading system are described. The method includes outputting a sampling point alignment signal to apply first time delays to align encoder code signals with a sampling point of an ADC The ADC is used to obtain digital samples of the orthogonal code-encoded analog signal at the sampling point. The method also includes outputting a decoder code alignment signal to apply second time delays to align decoder code signals with the digital samples. The method also includes outputting an orthogonal code alignment signal to apply third time delays to the decoder code signals and the encoder code signals, to maintain mutual orthogonality among the decoder code signals and to maintain mutual orthogonality among the encoder code signals.

  • Patent number: 7733241
Abstract: A telemetry unit (100) is provided for mounting to the inside of a pneumatic tire, which includes sensors for measuring the pressure and temperature within the tire and an RF transmitter for transmitting measured data to an on-board display remote location. The unit (100) includes a piezoelectric element (114) supported in a housing (112) with an actuator (136) arranged for contact with the element (114), to deflect the element (114) in response to external forces acting on the actuator (136) during rotation of the tire. For every rotation of the tire, cyclic pulses of electrical charge are generated by the deflection of the element (114). The unit (100) includes control means which controls the consumption of stored charge when measuring and transmitting data and is arranged to vary the rate of transmission of data from the unit (100) in dependence on the rotary speed of the tire.

  • Patent number: 7504763
Abstract: A telemetry unit (100) is provided for mounting inside a pneumatic tyre. The unit (100) includes a piezoelectric power generator for supplying power to the unit (100). A piezoelectric element (114) is supported in a housing (112) with an actuator 136 arranged for contact with the element (114), to deflect the element (114) in response to external forces acting on the actuator (136) during rotation of the tire. For every rotation of the tire, cyclic pulses of electrical charge are generated by the deflection of the element (114). The charge is stored and utilized under a power consumption protocol to operate pressure and temperature sensors and to transmit data from the unit (100). The telemetry circuitry is mounted for movement with the actuator (136) and therefore contributes to the actuating mass acting on the element (114).

  • Patent number: 7212104
Abstract: Low power consumption protocol A telemetry unit (100) is provided for mounting inside a pneumatic tire, which includes a piezoelectric element (114) supported in a housing (112), with an actuator (136) arranged for contact with the element (114), to deflect the element (114) in response to external forces acting on the actuator (136) during rotation of the tire. For every rotation of the tire, cyclic pulses of electrical charge are generated by the deflection of the element (114). The charge is stored and utilised under a power consumption protocol including the steps of: initiating power to a data measurement circuit for measuring data from the environment local to the unit (100); disabling power to the data measurement circuit; initiating power to a data transmission circuit; transmitting data from the measurement circuit; and disabling power to the transmission circuit.

  • Publication number: 20070031256
Abstract: A two-stage power generator which operates solely on re-circulating fluid. In the first stage a spinning container develops centrifugal force which pressurizes the fluid inside, creating a hybrid form of energy—Potential Energy in Motion (PEM). In the second stage the spinning pressurized fluid drives a turbine forward relative to its own motion i.e. the PEM is reconverted into Kinetic Energy as it also imparts its own speed. By using mechanical advantage in the second stage to increase the force applied to the turbine and incorporating the speed of the spinning pressurized fluid, the power output of the turbine is greatly enhanced; substantially exceeding the power needed for continuous operation i.e. the power required to continuously accelerate the fluid necessary to keep the container refilled and spinning at operating speed.
