  • Publication number: 20140178225
Abstract: Pump assemblies for use with a subsurface fluid reservoir include an upper barrel connected to a fluid filled conduit extending to the surface, a lower barrel connected to the upper barrel and in fluid communication with the reservoir, and a plunger assembly movably located within the upper and lower barrels. As the fluid pressure within production tubing, external to the pump assembly, increases, movement of the plunger draws fluid into the pump. As the fluid pressure within the production tubing decreases, the plunger pushes fluid into the production tubing.

  • Publication number: 20140178210
Abstract: Pump assemblies for use with a subsurface fluid reservoir include an upper portion connected to a fluid conduit extending to the surface, a lower portion connected to the upper portion and in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir of the wellbore, and a plunger assembly movably located within the upper and lower portion of the pump assembly. As the fluid pressure within the tubing string, fluidly isolated from the fluid conduit, increases, fluid is forced into the pump assembly moving the plunger assembly upwell to draw fluid into the pump and forces fluid into the fluid conduit. As the fluid pressure within the tubing string decreases, movement of the plunger assembly forces fluid from the lower portion into the upper portion through a fluid passageway extending through the plunger assembly.

  • Patent number: 8731992
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for evaluating geographic market opportunity are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide scaled market index values that indicate relative market opportunity among geographic statistical areas. Data can be gathered from both internal sources and public sources and the data from the two types of sources can merged to create summarized data corresponding to the geographic statistical areas of interest. A linear regression can be used to determine a scoring equation and average revenue per market. The scoring equation takes into account a plurality of market variables. In example embodiments of the invention, a raw market index is calculated for each geographic statistical area using the scoring equation and the average revenue. A scaled market index can be produced for each geographic statistical area using the raw market index.

  • Publication number: 20140075660
Abstract: A ballistic resistant groin protector is provided. The groin protector includes a groin panel and a deployable groin wrap. The groin panel can be suspended from clothing or equipment to protect a wearer's anterior pelvic region from ballistic impact. The groin wrap is moveable from a stowed position adjacent the anterior pelvic region to a deployed position between the wearer's legs and adjacent a posterior pelvic region. One or more fasteners secure the groin wrap to the wearer's clothing or equipment to maintain the groin wrap in the deployed position. Optional left and right femoral protective portions extend downwardly from the groin wrap to protect the wearer's medial thigh regions against ballistic injury in the deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20130263553
Abstract: Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. Embodiments of the connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. One or more tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on an underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface.

  • Publication number: 20130175878
Abstract: A method is disclosed including but not limited to supplying a voltage waveform from a higher power electrical bus to a lower power electrical bus; sensing on the lower power electrical bus, a deviation from a sinusoidal voltage waveform in the voltage waveform supplied from the higher power electrical bus; generating a correction current to adjust the deviation in the voltage on the lower power bus to a substantially sinusoidal voltage waveform; and filtering the correction current to substantially attenuate the correction current from propagating through the filter from the lower power electrical bus to the higher power electrical bus. A system is disclosed for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 7983272
Abstract: A method for providing network access to a shared access communications medium for a plurality of users includes the steps of conducting predictive admission control by arbitrating user requests for access to the shared medium based on predicted aggregate demands, conducting lookahead scheduling for use in making user channel assignments by forecasting schedule transmission opportunities one or more channels of the shared medium, and balancing load by making channel assignments such that a plurality users are each assigned a respective channel of the shared medium based upon a predicted need. Congestion parameters can predicted for each channel of the shared medium and mapped to a congestion measure using a mathematical function that takes into account packet loss rate, packet delay, packet delay jitter, and available capacity.

  • Publication number: 20110089057
Abstract: This invention will have six (6) pencil-pen pocket pleats. Two (2) each out of the six (6) from these pocket pleats will carry and secure two (2) each different lengths and sizes of pencils or pens which will be worn securely around the waist on a fashion and utility leather belt. This new method will minimize the use of students carrying sharp school supply objects in their hands and in a back pack.

  • Patent number: 7902854
Abstract: Devices that couple to high voltage transmission lines obtain power themselves using the body capacitance of an element of the devices. The devices generate a comparatively lower voltage from the current flowing between the high voltage line and the element of the device that generates the body capacitance. The devices can be used to operate sensors that monitor the transmission lines or parameters of the power distribution system, such as current, line temperature, vibration, and the like. The devices can also be used as indicators, such as aircraft warning lights, information signs, etc. In addition, the devices can operate as RF transmission/reception or repeater devices, radar devices, mesh networking nodes, video/audio surveillance, sound emitting devices for scaring animals, drones that traverse the power line, etc. Because the devices operate in response to line voltage rather than current, the devices are reliable even in low current conditions.

  • Publication number: 20100199410
Abstract: This fashion and utility leather belt will display two sides in order to point out the art of my new invention. The front side of the leather belt will display different sizes of ornaments (riveted on the leather belt) for fashionable looks (see FIG. 1 of page 14 of the Amendment to the Drawings for further detail). The inside of the leather belt will be the utility side showing velcro materia, which will attach different utility size pouches thereof (see FIG. 4 page 14 of the Amendment to the Drawing for further detail). Once all of the utility pouches are removed, the leather belt becomes a fashion belt for most designer sport wear.
