  • Publication number: 20250379472
Abstract: Systems and methods capable of high precision detection of the angle-of-arrival of a pilot signal over long distances from a precisely located receiver. Such a method includes providing a power transmitter apparatus and a receiver apparatus separated by a distance in space, sending a pilot signal from the receiver apparatus toward the power transmitter apparatus, and the power transmitter apparatus determining the angle of arrival of the pilot signal with fine angular resolution.

  • Patent number: 10584630
Abstract: A power-based control system and method for an engine comprising a turbocharger involve obtaining a set of parameters that each affect exhaust gas energy and using the set of parameters to (i) determine a target mass flow into the engine and a target boost for the turbocharger to achieve a torque request, (ii) determine a target power for a compressor of the turbocharger to achieve the target engine mass flow and the target turbocharger boost, (iii) determine a target pressure ratio and a target mass exhaust flow for the turbine of the turbocharger to achieve a target turbine power equal to the target compressor power, and (iv) determine a target position of the wastegate valve to achieve the target turbine pressure ratio and mass exhaust flow, and commanding a wastegate valve to the target position.

  • Publication number: 20070089413
Abstract: A turbine housing for an engine turbocharger includes a turbine outlet port fluidly coupled to an expansion mechanism, a waste port fluidly coupled to a collector, and a valve assembly rotatable between a first position blocking the turbine outlet port and a second position blocking the waste port. The valve assembly directs exhaust gas through the waste port in the first position and directs exhaust gas through the turbine outlet port in the second position. The valve assembly is in the first position during engine start-up to direct exhaust gas from the engine through the collector and into a catalyst. The valve assembly is in the second position a predetermined time following engine start-up to direct exhaust gas from the engine to the expansion mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050086936
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger comprising: a twin scroll turbine housing; a turbine wheel positioned in the twin scroll housing; an exhaust gas inlet, operatively connected to port exhaust gas through each side of the twin scroll turbine housing and onto the turbine wheel; a bypass, operatively connected to the exhaust gas inlet to port exhaust gas around the twin scroll turbine housing to bypass the turbine wheel; and a valve, operatively positioned to control exhaust gas flow to each side of the twin scroll turbine housing and the bypass.
