  • Patent number: 5489301
Abstract: An improved corneal prosthesis is comprised of an optical core member having a frustoconical shape and preferably a substantially cylindrical anterior section and a substantially conical posterior section. The optical core member of an alloplastic material, preferably intraocular grade polymethylmethacrylate, has an anterior flange portion extending peripherally about the anterior optical end portion of the core member at least about 0.5 and preferably less than 1.0 millimeter. A skirt member extends peripherally about and is attached, preferably mechanically, to the optical core member at a peripheral groove between the anterior section and the posterior section and is capable of being implanted in a lamellar pocket in the eye.

  • Patent number: 5365332
Abstract: A device for inspecting a firearm by directing light from an exterior source to the bore or barrel of the firearm includes a generally L-shaped, single piece, light-transmitting member having a first leg substantially cylindrical in cross section merging smoothly into a second outwardly flaring leg substantially non-cylindrical in cross section. The first leg and second leg each have convexly-shaped free ends and cooperate to increase the gathering, capture and distribution of light between the source and the bore of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 4706482
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for pressure testing pipe and fittings systems. A seal has a disk portion and a flange portion. The seal is permanently attached to the inside of a fitting on the distal end of the pipe section to be tested, thereby blocking fluid flow. The section is installed and tested by conventional means. After testing, a pull-tab formed in the seal is removed to permit fluid flow through the seal. Subsequent sections can then be installed and tested.
