  • Patent number: 5911726
Abstract: A surgical mesh stabilizer including a cannula having a proximal cannula end and a distal cannula end, a stylet having a proximal stylet end and a distal stylet end, a hook on the distal stylet end, the stylet being slidably mounted in the cannula and movable between a remote position wherein the proximal stylet end is remote from the proximal cannula end and the hook is sheathed within the distal cannula end and a near position wherein the proximal stylet end is near the proximal cannula end and the hook is unsheathed from the distal cannula end, a disc slidably mounted on the distal cannula end, a hub fixedly mounted on the proximal cannula end and a spring extending between the hub and the disc.

  • Patent number: 5366464
Abstract: An atherectomy catheter device including a flexible casing, an elongated flexible tubular coil in the casing, a window extending axially in the flexible tubular coil and casing for placement in contiguous relationship to a lesion in a blood vessel, a cutting edge on the coil in the window, and an actuator having structure therein for both rotating and reciprocating the catheter to cause the cutting edge to excise the lesion from the blood vessel. The elongated tubular member may be a flexible corrugated member. An atherectomy catheter including a flexible casing, an elongated flexible tubular coil in the casing, a window extending axially in the flexible tubular coil and casing, a rotatable knife member in the flexible coil, and a drive for rotating and advancing the knife axially through the window.

  • Patent number: 4870730
Abstract: A tool mounting construction which includes a tool holder having a pneumatic cylinder, a piston in said cylinder for mounting a tool, pressure regulating means in communication with the cylinder for maintaining the pressure in the cylinder substantially constant regardless of the forces applied to the tool holder to thereby cause the piston to press the tool against a workpiece with a substantially constant force, an elongated rod having a first end for bearing against an external surface remote from the workpiece, and a connection between the tool holder and a second end of the rod for effecting a connection therebetween to thereby apply a force on the tool holder from the bearing relationship between the rod and the external surface. The foregoing tool mounting construction is mounted in a kit with a plurality of tubular extension rods for varying the length of the rod.

  • Patent number: 4818155
Abstract: A power tool combination including a hammer drill, an adapter secured to the drill for attaching it to an elongated rod which bears on the floor, a pneumatic cylinder and piston unit mounted between the elongated rod and the drill for applying an uniform external force for moving the power drill into the ceiling, and a coupling member between the pneumatic piston and cylinder unit. The coupling member is rigid for transmitting axial forces therethrough under normal operating conditions but is capable of yielding to absorb abrupt shock forces in the event that the drill encounters an undesirable obstruction in the ceiling, the coupling member including structure for causing it to return to a normal rigid condition after the shock forces have been absorbed.

  • Patent number: 4386643
Abstract: A tire traction device including a cylindrical cup member for attachment on a rim-securing nut of a vehicle wheel by a set screw, an elongated threaded shank extending coaxially with the cup member, an elongated link having an elongated slot for receiving the elongated shank, nuts threadably mounted on the elongated shank on opposite sides of the elongated link for tightening the elongated link in an axial position on the shank wherein the elongated link both extends perpendicularly to the shank and rests against the side of a tire, and a traction member extending perpendicularly from the end of the elongated link and having a first side for gripping engagement with the tread of the tire and an opposite side for gripping engagement with the ground.
