  • Publication number: 20100312411
Abstract: An AC consumption controller, a method of managing AC power received at a battery plant in response to AC supply conditions and a battery plant are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the AC consumption controller include: (1) an AC supply monitor configured to recognize an AC supply event associated with a battery plant having at least one rectifier, a battery supply and a DC bus having a DC load current and configured to supply a DC voltage, the DC bus coupled to the rectifier and the battery supply and (2) an AC supply adjuster configured to maintain an AC power level for the AC supply event by regulating the DC voltage throughout the AC supply event to share sources of the DC load current between an output battery current of the battery supply and an output rectifier current of the rectifier.

  • Patent number: 7732944
Abstract: The present invention provides a central current share coordinator for use with remotely and non-remotely controllable rectifiers coupled to an output bus. In one embodiment, the central current share coordinator includes a rectifier current resolver configured to determine an existing current share condition for the remotely and non-remotely controllable rectifiers. Additionally, the central current share coordinator also includes a load share adjuster coupled to the rectifier current resolver and configured to adjust an output current of the remotely controllable rectifiers toward a target current share distribution on the output bus.

  • Patent number: 4684423
Abstract: A method of constructing a collapsible mandrel for use in fabricating filament wound vessels or tanks includes the steps of preparing a rigid mandrel and supporting the mandrel on a rotatable axle, applying one or more layers of strips of rubber longitudinally on the mandrel to form an enclosure, applying coats of rubber solution over the layers, winding a layer of fibers over at least one of the layers, and curing the rubber layers. The layers are cut into two parts, removed from the rigid mandrel, and rejoined by using reinforcing straps along the seam of the joined parts. The collapsible mandrel may be used to fabricate either filament wound tanks or other collapsible mandrels, neither of which would have a seam or joint since, after constructing the tank or second mandrel on the first inflated collapsible mandrel, the first mandrel would be deflated, collapsed and removed from the interior of the tank or second mandrel.
