  • Publication number: 20240074416
Abstract: The present invention relates to the engineering an animal model, preferably mammalian models, more preferably a rat model representing Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 2A (CMT2A) harboring the p.Arg364Trp or p.His361Tyr Mfn2 mutation, whose human counterpart results in a severe, early-onset axonal neuropathy. A model having the p.Arg364Trp Mfn2 mutation is based on a mutation made using zinc finger endonuclease technology in fertilized rat eggs. Cohorts of mutants and wild type littermates were characterized behaviorally and shown to develop multiple motor deficits that worsened over time. Separate cohorts of mutant and wild type rats sacrificed at 7, 40, and 48 weeks and analyzed by light microscopy showed a reduced density of myelinated axons and active axonal degeneration in distal but not proximal nerves, as well as axonal degeneration in the fasciculus gracilis of the cervical spinal cord at 40 and 48 weeks.

  • Patent number: 6772370
Abstract: A method and apparatus to generate test sequences for pipeline hazards in a pipelined data processing system is presented. An executable specification for the architecture is compiled that includes macroarchitecture and microarchitecture information corresponding to each of the instructions supported by the architecture. A table (20) is constructed from the executable specification that specifies the particular resource utilization parameters associated with each of the instruction types included in the instruction set supported. From this table a resource utilization parameter list (30) is compiled that indicates the relative times at which resources are needed by each instruction and when these resources are released by the instruction. Comparisons between different entries in the resource utilization parameter list corresponding to the same resource are performed such that potential hazards are detected.

  • Patent number: 5486648
Abstract: An electric power cable is provided having concentric neutral wires (CN wires) applied helically over the cable core construction to serve as a metallic ground shield and having a protective polymeric jacket over the CN wires. The cable is characterized in that at least one continuous, elongated water swellable element, such as yarn, filament, strand or strip is provided in contact with the CN wires and is so disposed in relation thereto as to block the passage of water within the cable in the longitudinal direction.
