Publication number: 20160317860Abstract: A highly adjustable stationary exercise bicycle for tall or large individuals is presented incorporating a number of features specifically designed for larger stationary bicycle users. The bicycle includes infinitely adjustable vertical and horizontal seat heights and positions as well as infinitely adjustable horizontal handle bar heights. The bicycle further includes extendable front and rear support mechanisms that increase the footprint of the stationary bicycle to provide additional stability for tall or large users. The extendable foot may be included in the front, rear, or both.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 2, 2016Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: John R. Baudhuin, John C. Cook

Patent number: 5482391Abstract: The invention provides a ticket issuing device including ticket roll stock support means, a path for ticket stock to move from the roll past a guillotine station, a magnetic ticket encoder station, a ticket printer station, and computer-controlled ticket processing electronic circuitry, is characterised in that the guillotine, encoder and printer stations comprise separate modules composed of construction elements mounted on base plate members.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1994Date of Patent: January 9, 1996Assignee: The Republic of South AfricaInventor: John C. Cook
-
Patent number: 5332174Abstract: A cassette casing adapted to house a replaceable ribbon including spaced spool carrier shafts rotatably mountable within the casing, at least one of the shafts being retractable from the casing in an axial direction and a device to lock the shaft against retraction. The casing also includes a device providing a guide path for the ribbon to travel from one spool to another, and a loading aperture in the casing through which at least one removable spool may be inserted into the cassette in a direction transverse to the axis thereof to be suitably positioned for insertion of the retractable spool carrier shaft into or retraction of the shaft from the bore of the spool.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1992Date of Patent: July 26, 1994Assignee: Telkor (Proprietary) LimitedInventor: John C. Cook

Patent number: 4012649Abstract: A detector structure and array to be buried in a solid medium either singly or plurally at spaced intervals to detect intrusions such as footsteps upon the surface under which the detectors are buried. Each detector comprises a cup having a diaphragm at one end and a closure at the other end, piezoelectric transducer disc means in the cup and bonded to the diaphragm, the diaphragm being large enough in diameter to achieve good coupling to the medium in which it is buried, especially if it is a particulate medium such as ground soil. A cable joins the cup units, and sealing means are provided for the cup and cable entrance to seal against entry of moisture. Successive detector units may be coupled to the cable with reversed polarities to cancel out frontal disturbances such as seismic events.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1975Date of Patent: March 15, 1977Assignee: Teledyne Industries, Inc.Inventors: John C. Cook, James D. Kerr
-
Patent number: 4004268Abstract: A plurality of detector units oriented in line to form a linear array to detect intrusions such as footsteps upon the ground under which the array is buried, the coil connections and sometimes the magnet polarities of successively adjacent detector units in the array being reversed so as to cancel out disturbances arriving in a broad frontal manner and caused by spurious events, but to avoid cancellation of disturbances of a localized near-field nature, and the individual detector units comprising variable reluctance units especially constructed to provide high sensitivity, to be protected from hazards of their environment, and to provide elongated zones of sensitivity in a flexible construction.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1975Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Teledyne Industries, Inc.Inventor: John C. Cook
