  • Publication number: 20120238733
Abstract: Crystals of a solvated cerium(III) halide solvate complex resulted from a process of forming a paste of a cerium(III) halide in an ionic liquid, adding a solvent to the paste, removing any undissolved solid, and then cooling the liquid phase. Diffusing a solvent vapor into the liquid phase also resulted in crystals of a solvated cerium(III) halide complex.

  • Patent number: 7846410
Abstract: Method of producing ammonia borane, comprising providing polyborazylene; digesting the polyborazylene with a dithiol-containing agent to produce a boro-sulfide compound and a byproduct; converting the byproduct to the boro-sulfide product of step (b) by reaction with a first alkyl-tin hydride; and, converting the boro-sulfide compound produced in steps (b) and (c) to ammonia borane by reaction with a second alkyl-tin hydride.

  • Patent number: 7713506
Abstract: Metal aminoboranes of the formula M(NH2BH3)n have been synthesized. Metal aminoboranes are hydrogen storage materials. Metal aminoboranes are also precursors for synthesizing other metal aminoboranes. Metal aminoboranes can be dehydrogenated to form hydrogen and a reaction product. The reaction product can react with hydrogen to form a hydrogen storage material. Metal aminoboranes can be included in a kit.

  • Patent number: 4417664
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the mounting of lift cranes on jackup rigs, offshore platforms, and like offshore structures provides a first static bearing race portion which is mounted upon the jacking structure, for example, of a jackup rig surrounding the telescoping leg associated therewith. On offshore platforms, a vertical leg portion of the jacket can be extended vertically with the static bearing race portion being affixed to the extended vertical jacket leg. A second movable bearing race portion is attached to the static race portion with a plurality of bearings therebetween allowing the first and second bearing race portions to rotate with respect to one another. The crane is then supported on the upper bearing race portion with the telescoping leg of the jackup rig or offshore jacket structure passing through both bearing race portions, the crane structure unencumbering vertical movement of the leg in the case of a jackup rig.
