Publication number: 20100024247Abstract: A protective appliance for the space between the toes of a wearer of flip-flop sandals or other such footwear. The appliance has a generally hollow, generally elongated cylindrical shape and is fabricated from a relatively light weight, soft and compressible material. It includes a longitudinal cut through one of its sides that allows the appliance to be opened and engaged about the thong segment of the flip-flop that normally extends between the large toe and adjacent toe of the wearer, and that resiliently closes after the appliance is so engaged. When applied, the appliance cushions the space between the toes and the thong segment and allows at least a limited degree of both longitudinal and radial movement of the appliance relative to the thong segment thus increasing comfort of the flip-flops and minimizing friction and chafing of the toes on the thong segment during walking and other activities in the flip-flops.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2008Publication date: February 4, 2010Inventors: Daniel T. Feeney, John C. Hughes, Victor M. Souza, Timothy G. Hickey

Patent number: 7377237Abstract: A cooling system for a hybrid power system that includes an engine employs an engine cooling circuit to deliver coolant to the engine, the engine cooling circuit including a radiator and a main fan to draw air through the radiator. When the hybrid power system further includes an inverter, then the inverter is cooled via an inverter cooling circuit that is formulated as one portion of the cooling system to deliver coolant to the inverter, the inverter cooling circuit including a heat exchanger located such that the main fan draws air through the heat exchanger when the main fan is active. The cooling system also includes a secondary fan to selectively draw air though the heat exchanger during operation of an inverter cooling circuit coolant pump.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2006Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Cummins Power Generation Inc.Inventors: Allen B. Carney, John C. Hughes, Kevin J. Keene, Deborah A. Klinkert, Bradley D. Padget

Patent number: 5826085Abstract: An object oriented interactive application interface for facilitating application program development in a networked computer system providing on-line services is disclosed. The present invention is an Interactive Application Object module (IAO), comprising a client side portion and a server side portion, that facilitates the development of client applications for interaction with a server across a network. The IAO comprises a set of software objects that include interfaces and methods for implementing a client on-line service application at a high abstraction layer. The IAO provides high level objects for use by a client application for handling a large set of interactive system and business functions. On the client device, the IAO insulates the client application from the implementation details of a particular low level network interface.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1995Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Oracle CorporationInventors: Curtis Bennett, Dan Berkery, Shanmugam Chinnasamy, Jay Daugherty, John C.
