  • Patent number: 4376559
Abstract: A receptacle, such as one for a duplex electrical outlet, includes a grounding plate facilitating ready grounding of the receptacle. A conventional ground screw is provided at one end of the receptacle and the grounding plate abuts the receptacle housing and has an opening therein for receipt of the ground screw, and a contoured surface extending away from the opening and for operatively engaging a ground object. The ground object may comprise a face plate for the receptacle, the grounding plate having a serrated edge abutting the face plate. Alternatively, the ground object can be a ground wire, in which case the grounding plate contoured surface comprises an arm having a V-shaped notch, or a strip with a tongue pressed from it, for receiving the ground wire.

  • Patent number: 4113334
Abstract: An electrical outlet strip comprises a casing having a plurality of special snap-in outlet receptacles disposed in openings in one wall of the casing. The outlet receptacles have specially slotted hot, neutral and ground terminals disposed within the casing in a preselected arrangement such that during assembly of the strip bus wires can be rapidly connected between the corresponding terminals of the receptacles by placing the bus wires in the slots and subsequently crimping the terminals and/or soldering the bus wires to the terminals.

  • Patent number: 4072401
Abstract: A cased electrical component such as an electrical outlet strip includes a case having laterally projecting ears each provided with an aperture. Mounting brackets, adapted to be temporarily attached to a mounting surface, are fixed to the case at locations such that they obstruct the apertures in the ears thereby preventing the case from being permanently mounted to the mounting surface by fasteners passing through the apertures in the ears.
