  • Patent number: 5605353
Abstract: According to the invention, a vehicle chassis includes first and second longitudinal extending side rails which are laterally spaced apart. A cross member extends transversely between the first and second side rails and has bolt holes therein. A longitudinally extending slotted aperture is provided in each side rail and registers with the bolt holes of the cross member. Each of the side rails has a cage member attached thereto and overlying aligned the slotted aperture. Each cage member has a longitudinally extending slotted aperture registering with the slotted aperture of the side rail and each has a nut captured therein for longitudinal movement of the nut within the cage member along the slotted aperture. A bolt is installed through the cross member bolt hole, through the slotted aperture of the side rail, and into the nut to attach the cross member and the side rail.

  • Patent number: 5539812
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in connection with a telecommunication between a local telephone and a remote telephone, which are capable of detecting whether one of the parties to the communication has attempted to initiate a three-way, i.e., conference, call by using a hook-flash signal. The apparatus includes a low pass filter for passing energy having frequencies below about 500 Hz, and an energy detector for detecting a specific electrical energy pulse characteristic of the hook-flash having passed through the low pass filter. The existence of the hook-flash is confirmed by digital signal processing equipment which identifies a rapid drop-off in energy also characteristic of the hook-flash signal. Optionally, the hook-flash may be further confirmed by including software for cooperating with the energy detector to ascertain whether sound has occurred in the telecommunication during a predetermined period following the first hook-flash signal.

  • Patent number: 5287555
Abstract: A transmitter (604) of a TDMA cellular telephone (600) includes power control circuitry (100) comprised of variable gain stage (104), mixer (106), bandpass filter (109), RF amplifier (110), and directional coupler (112) in a forward path, and two detectors (116 and 117), four A/D converters (118, 119, 121 and 123), digital controller (120), and D/A converter (126) in a feedback path. In operation, the variable gain stage (104) is responsive to a gain control signal AOCCNT (128) for adjusting a modulated IF signal, which is then mixed in mixer (106) with an RF reference signal to produce the transmit RF signal. The temperature and supply voltage are sampled by controller (120) at the beginning of each time slot. Adjustments in the gain control signal (128) dictated by the sampled temperature and supply voltage are made by controller (120) in each time slot prior to keying the RF amplifier (110).

  • Patent number: 5092477
Abstract: A closure for a container for use in resisting child opening thereof and for recording an act of tampering therewith. This closure has an outer cap and a liner and an inner cap coaxially disposed along a common axis. The inner cap has an outer surface with peripheral groove portions and axial groove portions. The outer cap has an inner surface with a pair of radially protruding spikes which are received and travel in the groove portions for resisting child opening thereof. The liner has a shearable, indicia-marked top foil and a top adhesive attached to the interior surface of a top transparent end wall of the outer cap, and has a bottom, indicia-marked foil with a bottom adhesive attached to the exterior surface of a top end wall of the inner cap, and has an adhesive strip disposed between the two foils, for recording an act of tampering therewith.
