  • Patent number: 6918107
Abstract: A system is provided for manipulating data representation language based—objects in a native programming language environment. In one embodiment, the system is used to map data objects of the data representation language to corresponding objects within the native programming language and vice versa. In one embodiment, the system is equipped to receive a mapping definition mapping selected elements of a data representation language, such as an XML data structure, to selected objects of a programming language, such as ECMAScript. The system is further equipped to determine whether the mapping definition comprises one or more definitional statements expressed with data representation language oriented language elements of a programming language.

  • Publication number: 20030146141
Abstract: The invention is an agitated countercurrent flotation apparatus having a plurality of flotation cells through which a separable fluid mixture of solids or liquids or both flows sequentially. Preferably, each cell is provided with an upright shaft having a plurality of impellers attached to it and spaced along its length with disks being affixed to the shaft between adjacent impellers, thereby defining a plurality of flotation zones vertically within the cell. This structure enables the creation of a gradient of flotation conditions vertically within each cell so that conditions can be tailored to maximize the mass transfer of particles onto bubbles and promote a flow of liquids or solids laden bubbles upward through the cell and a countercurrent decreasing concentrated stream for the feed into the next cell.

  • Patent number: 5509535
Abstract: A flotation apparatus has an array of flotation cells which are in serial fluid flow communication from a first to a last cell. Each cell is in overflow communication with an overflow froth receiving receptacle which preferably has a top lip of slightly varying height in each cell. Air inlet and mechanical agitation are provided for each cell and are so positioned to promote an upright circular fluid flow in each cell toward the froth receiving receptacle. Each cell has internal surfaces shaped and oriented to promote the upright circular fluid flow and to discourage the creation of reverse eddy currents within the cell.

  • Patent number: 5013359
Abstract: A process for recovering gold from a refractory sulfidic ore which has been suspended in an aqueous slurry and oxidized using nitric acid so that substantially all of the gold in the ore is made available for recovery and at least a portion of the sulfidic components present during the oxidation are oxidized to elemental sulfur, comprises bubbling air as a discontinuous phase upwardly through the oxidized slurry, thereby creating a froth containing elemental gold and sulfur. The froth is separated from the slurry to provide a concentrate, and the gold is recovered from the concentrate.

  • Patent number: 4878370
Abstract: A cold extrusion process for forming internal ring gears comprising the formation of an annular ring gear blank having precise inside and outside diameters, placing the workpiece over a circular mandrel having external gear forming die teeth and a pilot portion adapted to receive the blank, placing a die ring around the mandrel and the assembled workpiece, a circular punch arranged coaxially with respect to the mandrel and the workpiece, moving the punch into the annular space occupied by the workpiece between the die ring and the mandrel, advancing the punch by means of a press whereby the workpiece is cold formed through the external teeth of the mandrel, moving the die ring in synchronism with the downward motion of the workpiece through the die teeth thereby eliminating any frictional forces in the direction of motion of the die during the extrusion process, and retracting the die ring following the extrusion of the workpiece thereby permitting automated ejection of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4834793
Abstract: An oxidation process for releasing a metal of interest in an ore is described. The process is especially useful for releasing a metal of interest entrapped in a refractory ore. The process comprises reacting the ore with nitric acid until sufficient oxidation has occurred to release the metal of interest so that it may be recovered by conventional techniques. Nitric acid is regenerated in situ by aerating the liquid medium and contacting it with the off gases generated by the oxidation. The process is continuous and the nitric acid is recycled to the reactor preferably after removal of accumulated sulfate.

  • Patent number: 4750994
Abstract: A device for suspending solid particles in a turbulent fluid for the purpose of concentrating particles of interest such as mineral particles comprises an upright column provided with a plurality of impellers spaced along a rotatable shaft extending centrally within the column. An inlet is provided near the bottom of the column to introduce compressed gas which is dispersed by the rotating impellers to create a rising column of bubbles through a slurry of particles in a liquid so that a gas to liquid gradient is provided along the column. Disks are spaced along the shaft between the impellers, and baffles are provided longitudinally at the inner surface of the column to control the swirling of the fluid caused by the impellers.

  • Patent number: 4560887
Abstract: A relatively short-term standby power supply includes a relay which senses failure of the main AC power source, and in response to such a failure actuates contacts which turn on a first thyristor to connect a capacitor to the load. The capacitor has been charged to a higher voltage than the load requires and can consequently provide power to the load for a longer time period than would the same size capacitor charged to the normal operating voltage of the load.
