  • Patent number: 8918865
Abstract: Systems (100) and methods (400) for protecting data accessed through a network connection. The methods involve transferring security software (150) from an external memory device of a client computer (102) to an internal memory device of the client computer. The security software is operative to protect data communicated to and from the client computer via communication links. The security software is also operative to provide a web browser (1101, 1102, . . . , 110p) which executes in user mode on a trusted secured desktop (904) configured to run simultaneously with an unsecured desktop (902) of the client computer. The security software is further operative to provide a security service to the web browser. The security service includes at least one service selected from the group consisting of a keylogger prevention service, a code injection prevention service, and a screen scraper protection service.

  • Patent number: 8225404
Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneously protecting software components (150) installed on a computer system (102) against malware. The methods involve executing a first end user application (3181, 3182, . . . , 318p) to the computer system (102) which execute in user mode on a trusted secure desktop (904). The trusted secure desktop is configured to run simultaneously with an unsecure desktop (902). The methods also involve performing a security service operation to protect the first end user application against malware. The security service operations include a keylogger prevention service operation, a code injection prevention service operation, a screen scraper protection service operation, a process termination prevention service operation, or a Domain Name System service operation.

  • Patent number: 5355666
Abstract: A mulching rotary lawn mower that cuts and returns grass clippings to a lawn wherein the proportion of grass clippings that are finely cut by the rotating cutter blade can be selectively increased or decreased by provision of a collection chamber at the rear of the housing containing the rotating cutter blade, the collection chamber having a mulcher plate with a plurality of openings which can be pivoted from a substantially vertical position wherein the plate is tangential to the circle described by the cutting tips of the blade or moved rearwardly about a 45.degree. angle, thus effectively enlarging the collection chamber while closing the openings therein, so that a greater proportion of the grass clippings cut by the blade are received in the collection chamber, but which clippings, on the average, have been cut a lesser number of times and therefore are coarser than when the plate is in the vertical position. The position of the mulching plate is controlled by a handle readily available to the operator.

  • Patent number: 5133330
Abstract: An economical relief pitcher in which there is employed a plurality of tubes, at least one of them being employed as a firing tube and at least one being employed for storing balls to be fired, the firing tube being connected with a high volume source of air. A remote push actuator can be employed to actuate a rocker arm and actuator device for allowing a single ball at a time into the firing tube which is connected with a high volume source of air for firing. A delay is employed for effecting a delay from the pushing of the push actuator until the ball is fired. A lower tapered orifice is preferably employed for creating a suction pressure to help the balls get into the firing tube.

  • Patent number: 4065574
Abstract: Certain 4-chromones, 4-chromanones, 4-chromone oximes, and 4-chromanone oximes have been found to be active against fungi. These generally well-known compounds can be applied to seeds, plants, animals, objects, or places for preventing damage due to fungi. Specific, recognized active compounds, e.g., 6,8-dichloro-3-methyl-4-chromone oximes and 3-methyl-4-chromanone oximes are shown to be so useful in detail. General methods of preparing the active compounds are described.
