  • Patent number: 5169077
Abstract: A spider assembly for a rotary hammer assembly for a hammermill, the spider assembly including a spider having a number of arms, a replaceable end member mounted on the end of each arm and a protective cap mounted on the end of the replaceable member. The replaceable member including a contoured web that matingly engages a corrresponding socket in the spider arm. The web and socket including corresponding abutments for resisting the centrifigal force of the rotary motion of the hammer assembly. The protective cap is provided with a shroud having a contoured surface that matingly engages and protects the face of the end member.
