  • Publication number: 20240146659
Abstract: Methods are provided for a collaborative, decentralized insight engineering based on exchanging telemetry vectors with peer network devices. Each network device independently detects a deviation in its functioning using machine learning of generated feature vectors. Specifically, the methods involve obtaining, from at least one peer network device, at least a first feature vector that represents at least one insight generated from telemetry data of a respective peer network device. The intermediate network device and the at least one peer network device are configured to forward packets of a traffic flow. The methods further involve determining whether a deviation related to one or more of the network devices, exists based at least on the first feature vector and performing the at least one predefined action based on determining that the deviation exists.

  • Publication number: 20240098493
Abstract: Techniques for identifying a trusted SSID for a wireless network are disclosed. Prior to establishing a connection with a wireless network, a first network message is received from a first access point (AP) identifying a first service set identifier (SSID) associated with a first wireless network, a second network message is received from a second AP identifying a second SSID associated with a second wireless network, and a visual similarity is determined between a first visual representation of the first SSID and a second visual representation of the second SSID. The second SSID is designated as suspicious based on the determined visual similarity.

  • Patent number: 5394597
Abstract: A lighter and faster bullet with a copper jacket and an aluminum core which is formed by first folding or rolling sheets of a thin metal such as aluminum foil into a cylinder and then inserting the cylinder into the jacket. The cylinder is then compressed within the bullet jacket without damaging the jacket by means of a bullet press. To increase the weight of the projectile, lead or other metals of different specific gravities are added to the jacket prior to insertion of the cylinder and compression.

  • Patent number: 5143438
Abstract: A luminaire is disclosed comprising a fluorescent plastics outer sleeve having a configuration such that a high proportion of the fluorescent light generated within the sleeve is emitted as visible light. The sleeve includes a fluorescent dye, which dye is excited by a blue phosphor discharge.

  • Patent number: 5040859
Abstract: An infra red radiation modulator comprises a p type silicon substrate 1 having spaced n type and p type doped regions 2, 3 having respective doping concentrations of approximately 10.sup.20 and 10.sup.16 /cm.sup.3. A signal source 11 provides a bias voltage between the doped regions 2,3 via electrodes 4 for modifying the concentration of free carriers in the substrate between the doped regions and therefore the response of the modulator to incident infra red radiation. By appropriate control of the bias voltage the modulator can be caused to modulate, chop, filter or spectrally scan the incident radiation.

  • Patent number: 4808983
Abstract: A flat panel VDU or TV screen has pixel elements controlled by an array of small single crystal semiconductor bars or chips. Power and information are connected directly or capacitatively to the chips; chip surfaces have pick-up pads. X-Y address lines are provided on a VDU panel substrate, and each chip has bridging links to complete continuity of the Y-line. For data address, data lines are provided on the substrate, and decoding an address recognition circuitry is incorporated in each chip. Chips may be responsive to more than one address, and may be addressed either singly or using a single code address. Each chip may control its neighboring pixels. A single crystal wafer is processed and mounted on a support. Chips are defined by back etching the wafer and separated by stretching the support prior to transfer to a substrate. Self aligned electrodes may be produced using a mask stretched on the surface of the support.

  • Patent number: 4793825
Abstract: A medical implant for injecting into the vascular system of animals comprises a device less than 500 .mu.m in size carrying signal processing means for providing an output in response to an input signal. The input may be acoustic, electromagnetic, temperature, pH value, or chemical. The output may be acoustic, electromagnetic, or chemical. Large numbers, e.g., 10.sup.8, of the implant devices may be mixed into a saline solution and injected into a blood vessel where they are carried around the vascular system, or the devices may be mixed with a gas and inhaled. The amount of circulation depends on the device size. For the larger device e.g., above 7 .mu.m to around 250 .mu.m, circulation will be short lived. Smaller sized e.g., <3 .mu.m devices will circulate for a considerable time. Anti-bodies may be coated onto the devices to cause them to adhere to target areas such as tumors. In one device a chemical is released when illuminated externally by an acoustic beam.

  • Patent number: 4453305
Abstract: A method for producing a MISFET having a gate electrode formed at the base of a grooved recess. The grooved recess is formed with steep side-walls (e.g., be reactive ion etching, ion beam milling or by using an orientation dependent etchant) and gate and source and drain contacts are formed by the simultaneous deposition of conductive material (e.g., metal evaporated from a point source.) Steepness of the side-walls of the recess ensures separation of the conductive material, isolating the gate electrode from the remaining conductive material providing the source and drain contacts.A silicon MISFET may be produced, using a diazine catalyzed ethylenediamine-pyrocatechol-water solution etchant, and exposing the (110) crystal plane face of the silicon to the etchant to form the recess.

  • Patent number: 4449285
Abstract: A steep-walled mesa is defined by ion beam, plasma or orientation dependent etch, and has a thick insulating layer over its uppermost surface. The material of the mesa is undercut to leave the insulating layer overhanging. Further insulating material is then formed thinly over the exposed mesa material and conductive material deposited giving good coverage of the insulated side-walls of the mesa. Excess conductive material is removed by ion-beam milling, leaving a conductive material gate in the shadow of the cap-like insulating layer. The orientation dependent etchant diazine catalyzed ethylene diaminepyrocatachol-water solution is used to form {111} crystal plane steep side-walled mesa from (110) surface oriented silicon, and aluminium metal conductive material deposited by chemical vapor deposition.
