During waste compaction, the moveable upper frame moves in an upward direction to a point where the shoulder engages the cart's lip to establish a force-distribution loop among the upper frame and the side and bottom members of the cart. The invention includes a series of offset plates positioned in the interior of the container, where the offset plates are positioned to engage a barrel placed in the interior of the container. Each of the offset plates is connected to but offset from the interior facing portion of the container's interior walls through a crushable member that is adapted to absorb energy caused by an impact to the exterior facing surface of the container's wall.

    Abstract: An apparatus for compacting refuse providing an ability to compact refuse in a drum or in a bag or providing for the compaction of drums themselves which are unwanted. The apparatus provides a supportive frame having a platform on the frame upon which a drum or bag can be supported at its bottom. A provided jacket assembly can be opened for placement about the drum or bag, the jacket after closure supporting the drum or bag about its sides during compaction. A hydraulic ram having an attached compacting disk is supported vertically above the support platform and during operation compacts refuse within the jacket and in the drum or bag as desired maximizing the quantity of trash contained within a particular drum or bag for later disposal. During the compacting operation, a drum or bag is supported on its bottom by the platform on its side by the jacket and the trash is compacted from above by the compaction disk.     Abstract: Disclosed is a security device which includes a cylindrical externally threaded member having formed therein a radial first hole and a threaded second hole formed coaxially with the threaded member and intersecting the first hole. A bar is insertable into the first hole to extend radially outwardly therefrom. The bar includes a notch which is alignable with the second hole when the bar is inserted into the first hole. The device includes a sleeve having a first internal portion engageable with the externally threaded member and a second internal portion. The sleeve is engageable with the bar for preventing rotation of the sleeve with respect to the threaded member. The device includes a key operable pick-resistant lock that includes a lock body that is non-rotatably engageable with the second internal portion of the sleeve and a key operable screw that is threadably engageable with the second hole to engage the notch and prevent the bar from being removed from the threaded member.
