  • Publication number: 20120133065
Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time, closed-loop shape control of extruded ceramic honeycomb structures are disclosed. Methods include extruding batch material through an extruder barrel and through an extruder die using at least one extrusion screw to form the extrudate, and measuring a shape of the extrudate immediately adjacent the die. The batch material water content is determined or measured, at least one of the extruder barrel and screw temperature are measured, and the extrusion screw rotation rate are measured. At least one of the batch material water content, barrel temperature, screw temperature and rotation rate is adjusted to maintain the extrudate shape to within a select tolerance.

  • Publication number: 20060143593
Abstract: The invention populates UI terms referenced in help files of a software program with the corresponding UI terms used in the user interface controls of the software program during execution of the software program. The UI terms referenced in the help files are uniquely identified. A repository is built that contains information identifying the UI terms referenced in the help files and their corresponding UI terms in the user interfaces of the software program. A software component is provided that is capable of runtime population of the UI terms referenced in the help files with their corresponding UI terms in the user interfaces of the software program, using information stored in the repository.

  • Patent number: 7031477
Abstract: A voice-controlled system for providing digital audio content in an automobile is presented. The system comprises a CPU unit that includes a microprocessor programmed to decode and deliver digital media such as MP3s and ebooks to a listener. The CPU unit also includes a storage device for storing the media, RAM and a power supply. The storage device is a “plug-in” unit, such as a hard disc drive, that may be removed and inserted into a home computer for downloading media. The system is controlled using a voice-based input device that interfaces with the CPU unit. The voice-based device is operative to control in a hands-free manner, for example, the selection of the media to be delivered and the volume at which the media is delivered. A display and control unit is suitable for mounting on the dashboard of an automobile and provides an alternative to voice control of the system.

  • Publication number: 20060073574
Abstract: The complete DNA sequence of the gene cluster encoding the polypeptides responsible for the biosynthesis of the polyene antibiotic amphotericin of S. nodosus is provided. Engineered alteration of the amphC) gene so as to eliminate production of amphotericin A in favour of the more active form amphotericin B. as well as the production of amphotericin analogues having altered characteristics, is enabled by manipulation of the sequences of the cluster.

  • Patent number: 6661431
Abstract: A method of representing high-dimensional information collects, organizes, and presents information on how a target interacts with objects. As the target, such as an individual or group, moves between the objects, the method collects navigation data indicative of the target's path. Relationships are identified in the navigation data, with the relationship data being aggregated to articulate a behavior. Once the behavior has been identified, an indicia indicative of the behavior is selected. A representation of selected objects is arranged on a display, and the indicia is mapped to the arranged objects. In such a manner, the high-dimensional behavior aspect of the navigation data is efficiently and concisely presented in relation to the objects.
