  • Patent number: 11933290
Abstract: An axial piston pump controller for an axial piston pump having a fixed valve plate and a variable displacement is provided. The axial piston pump controller is configured to determine a displacement of the axial piston pump, and to calculate a pump displacement control current to be supplied to the axial piston pump to control the displacement of the axial piston pump. Calculating the pump displacement control current comprises calculating a nominal value for the pump displacement control current based on a rotational speed of the axial piston pump, calculating a pump stiffness adjustment factor based on a pump stiffness control map having as inputs: an output pressure of the axial piston pump; and the estimated pump displacement, and calculating the pump displacement control current to be supplied to the axial piston pump based on the nominal value and the pump stiffness adjustment factor.

  • Patent number: 11512449
Abstract: An excavator or other work machine includes a tilting bucket operated by a hydraulic actuator controlled by a bucket control valve responsive to control signals including a bucket shake control signal, which causes the bucket to move repeatedly in the rack and dump directions to shake debris from the bucket in a bucket shake operation. The actuator is powered by pressure from a hydraulic pump, and a control system includes an unloader valve to relieve pressure from the supply line to unload the pump when there is no demand for power. The control system is arranged to maintain a constant pressure signal in a load sensing line, to maintain the unloader valve constantly in a closed condition, for the duration of the bucket shake operation. This may be achieved by pressurising an actuator of a quick coupler to lock the bucket to the machine.

  • Publication number: 20070235653
Abstract: This invention relates to the manufacture of Cadmium Mercury Telluride (CMT) on patterned silicon, especially to growth of CMT on silicon substrates bearing integrated circuitry. The method of the invention involves growing CMT in selected growth windows on the silicon substrate by first growing one or more buffer layers by MBE and then growing the CMT by MOVPE. The growth windows may be defined by masking the area outside of the growth windows. Growth within the growth windows is crystalline whereas any growth outside the growth windows is polycrystalline and can be removed by etching. The invention offers a method of growing CMT structures directly on integrated circuits removing the need for hybridisation.

  • Publication number: 20070197022
Abstract: A method of manufacture of cadmium mercury telluride (CMT) is disclosed. The method involves growing one or more buffer layers on a substrate by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Subsequently at least one layer of cadmium mercury telluride, Hg1-xCdxTe where x is between 0 and 1 inclusive, is grown by metal organic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE) The use of MBE to grow buffer layers allows a range of substrates to be used for CMT growth. The MBE buffer layers provide the correct orientation for later MOVPE growth of CMT and also prevent chemical contamination of the CMT and attack of the substrate during MOVPE. The method also allows for device processing of the CMT layers to be performed with further MOVPE growth of crystalline CMT layers and/or passivation layers. The invention also relates to new devices formed by the method.

  • Patent number: 6189587
Abstract: A multi-roll automatic tape splicing device includes a platen which is rotatably mounted on a support frame via a shaft. Two or more tape mandrels are rotatably disposed on the platen at a substantially equal distance from the shaft, and substantially equally spaced from each other, each mandrel being capable of receiving a respective roll of tape. An index drive is operatively coupled to the platen, for selectively rotating the platen so as to successively move each mandrel into a predetermined operating position at which a web of tape can be drawn from a respective roll of tape disposed on the mandrel, and for moving a mandrel out of the operating position when the respective roll of tape is depleted. A first sensor is operatively mounted on the support frame and capable of detecting a depleted condition of a roll of tape mounted on a respective mandrel in the operating position.

  • Patent number: 5676792
Abstract: A splicing device includes a bracket for mounting on a sealing machine frame, a shaft rotatably mounted on the bracket, the bracket carrying a spindle on each end thereof for a roll of tape, a first handle and brake on one end of the shaft for releasably locking the arm in one position, and a second handle on the other end of the shaft for rotating the shaft and arm, a wiper roller and a separation roller mounted on the frame. A first roll of tape is dispensed from one spindle to a taping head, and a second, fresh roll of tape is on the other spindle. When the first roll of tape is almost completely dispensed, the brake is released and the arm rotated to contact the second roll of tape with the adhesive surface of the first roll.

  • Patent number: 3971691
Abstract: The invention is apparatus for laying film in wrinkle-free fashion on a flat surface. A protective film is automatically laid down on a flat rigid vacuum support plate capable of having an image bearing transparency thereon when the instant invention traverses the rigid support plate in one pass in one direction. A photosensitive material and a backing material may then be subsequently supplied to the rigid support plate upon a second pass in the reverse direction to provide a photopolymer plate which may be exposed through a transparency covered by said first film. The resulting photopolymer plate having hardened relief image areas may then be further treated to provide a printing plate.
